Yeah, Mat Schneider would be a good addition for sure, but has everybody already said, his salary won't fit under the cap of the Habs unless we send another big contract back to them.

Eklund lives by the saying... throw enough **** at the wall and eventually something will stick.

Desjardins and Schneider = Phenomenal.

Hey, with Claude signing with San Jose, Montreal should sign Paul Coffey. He was actually good during Pros vs. Joes.

Claude wasn't bad either, high sticked a guy and threw him into the boards.

He's been in and out of the lineup continuously this year with injuries. He's never really been able to get it going.

His cap hit would not be that much anymore. Half way through the season means right now his cap hit on us would be about $2.85M. If we get him at around the 55 game mark, his cap hit on us would be a little less then $1.9M.

yeah but it works both ways. The salary going to the other team also decreases over the year so you still need to move the same amount of salary the other way no matter what time in the season. If they add him without sending salary the other way then yeah it makes a difference.

Huh? We still have over 1 million in space, plus a bonus cushion of something like $2.5M. We don't have to move salary.

I'm not for believing Eklund either, but why is it so far fetched that Gainey wants Scheider? He can qp a powerplay and has excellent playoff experience.

i wrote to Corus Sport Radio(French radio station) to make a suggestion on Tuesday.

I was talking about Mathieu Schneider to Montréal, and that he could be a good power play QB. He also won the cup with the team in 1993 playoffs.

The day after, Eklund wrote Schneider to Montréal(E3)...He's so stupid. A simple idea on a radio station becomes a trade rumor that will happen soon.

Schneider is too old... i would not trade for him, I'll try Weber instead.

Schneider good years are behind him. I do not want a Chelios.

I am sensing a bit less enthusiasm around here for Schneider than Hossa around here.

Come on, the Thrashers might trade you someone. We can't even get a single

All he is going to give you is a nice pressence on the point, and someone who is confident moving the puck out of his own zone. Perhaps he will be less inclined to take lazy penalties and attempt low percentage passes when he is on a team that is playing for something.

I can't wait 'til Schneider retires so this rumour is finally laid to rest.
He is nohwere of what I'd like for the 4th D on this team, with how persistant this rumour has been, you'd think Gainey would have taken him from Anaheim with the cheap price tag that the Thrashers got him for.
