Penalties Hartnell/Knuble etc.

I love our type of game its how i got hooked on flyers hockey as a kid but between knuble and hartnell they have really been taking stupid penalties. Penalties when we are in the offenseive zone that are really lazy. I love seeing our penalty killing especially when we score. SH goals are exciting and get the team pumped up but stupid penalties are really getting annoying i applaud stevens for keeping his cool so far against the wild. If my mind serves me correctly so far tonight against the Wild none have the penalties have been what you would call good penalties.

Is anyone agree that we ve been taking too many stupid penalties as of late or am wrong?? Done fuming!!

This thread does not refer to just the wild game, but to the last 10 or so games.

Hartnell and Coburn are in the top ten league wide for minor penalties with 24 and 22 respectively (this game not over yet). Knuble is actually only fourth on the team in minors. Third is Sbisa.

We call it Knubling the PP around here. It's happened so often, it deserved it's own definition.

A$$ knees, Hips, look at most of his PP goals -- they are off his body -- not much skill involved -- I like 22 Just not at his cap hit this year or going forward

a) He uses his stick in front of the net better than anyone on the team (and most teams around the league for that matter).
b) There's a ton of skill involved in getting yourself in the right place to get those bounces. There's a reason nobody else seems to get them at nearly the same rate.
c) There needn't be a c.

That's right. If standing in front of the net getting hit by pucks that wind up in the net required no skill, then Riley Cote could do it.

Not surprising, Coburn is out there against some pretty darn good players and Hartnell is just dumb sometimes.

For the last two games coburn has looked just like that player he was last year. Quick, good outlet passes, trying shots on the point.

I think it helps his game a hell of a lot with timmo out there next to him

you know what... as long as we are top 10 in the league on the PK i dont really mind taking some "aggressive penalties" sure some of them are stupid and unnecessary but it also gives the message around the league that we're not gonna take any crap from anyone.

edit: we are currently 11th in the league on the PK but only by 1/10th of a percentage.
