One of those gaping holes is a trap. Don't trust it.

I happen to remember a post from AP directed at me last season. It was post regarding Zenon Konopka and his ability and desire to play hockey in the NHL. I leave you to draw your own conclusions...
totally off subject matter of thread:

Yes i did...and i don't think i disagreed with you on his ability I disagreed in his desire to play in the NHL. I believe you stated that he knew his place was in the AHL. While that may be were his ability level is at...that is not his goal. He wants to play in the NHL and his goal is not to stay in the AHL.

Another theory suggests that a rather large mirror was broken durning the arena's construction and we just have to wait out the 7 year bad luck period.
A local spiritual ghost buster was brought in for " spiritual releasement therapy"and her psychic abilities centered in on the big blue Nationwide Arena sign on the front of the building as a large portal for evil spirits., The sign was the starting point for a cleansing ritual of pouring sea salt all the way around the building in early November , and to top it off Holy Water was put into the zamboni in early December, so that every time the ice was cleaned , the holy water would be spread all over the ice to ward off demons and evil spirits. (check the December home record and draw your own conclusions)

We're past 7 years, so is there a black cat living in the arena that walks past the locker room door?

It's probably too late now since LeClaire is injuried, but I said this in a previous post: you will burn Mason if you don't give him some rest this season. The guy will break in March and won't even make it to the playoffs.

Has anyone blamed Maclean for drafting this piece of glass yet?

Well...the broken mirror bad luck should be over since the arena was completed in 2000. But how long does a curse last for the 1,281 prisoners who were killed/died on the Arena site? Also, can we include them in attendance figures?

"At least 1281 people died within the prisonís walls: 343 executed, 116 from cholera and 322 in a fire. In addition to these deaths, there were suicides, victims of violence, killing of would be escapees and those who died of natural causes."

http://ghosts-hauntings.suite101.com...iary_hauntings

Maybe next October they should bring old "Sparky" in and a bunch of paranormal exorcist types from those haunted travel channel shows and break the curse theme game. The Jackets could get a fourth jersey in black & white stripes with their numbers looking like prison issue. Sparky could be used to replace the bench in the visitor's penalty box for the game. Autographed mugshots of players to the first 1,281 fans in attendance...

Which piece of glass are we talking about? Leclaire, Klesla, Tollefsen, Mason? Brassard? Fritsche?

For the 1,281st time, the arena is not on the OP site!

That was pretty much what was said, yep. We agreed on his AHL ability - and we did disagree on his desire. The caveat to that disagreement was that the player Zenon was in Syracuse (Captain and leader of a team that was playoff bound) was not the player that played his (2? 3?) games in Columbus. I don't doubt that Zenon wants to be an NHL player - afterall, if Shelley could do it ...) but my point THEN was that I don't believe Konopka wanted to be in the NHL that week/month. His head was NOT here in Columbus and neither was his heart - both his head and his heart were EXACTLY where they should have been which was with his team in Syracuse. That's the only valid reason I could (then or now) use to explain his headless/heartless play with the Jackets. I actually admired him more for it.

lolz,

This is the first season that Columbus won't be a joke because of the on ice product, but because of what isn't on the ice -- the whole ****ing roster

No the Prison was SOUTH of the parking lot and the Arena. It extended from Spring Street one block North. The wall then went east one block and then south one block again.

Hmm I thought it was but I could be wrong...

I went down and photographed the pen before it came down- it was a very cool building. The history is just amazing. I was sad when it came down, but as a hockey fan- glad something good came out of it.

Used to go down there with my dad who was an attorney, and got to tour the place a few times. It was an interesting place.

The OP was on the corner of Neil and Spring. There were parking lots and warehouses where the arena sits.

This whole thing was probably just a ploy to throw off the Caps.

that is cool...i guess i just missed understood that you were talking about his desire for his time in columbus...all is good.
Back to thread topic:
Mason sure didn't look hurt tonight!!! One heck of a show he put on, along with the rest of the Jackets

No no! We need to keep it up to keep our opponents guessing

Tomorrow night they should have LaCosta out skating around in warmups and taking a bunch of shots
