the rub is, you may find yourself saying that very often... and then it'll even get old to you and you start having more and more difficulty in your attempts at rationalizing losing 3-2/4-3/5-4/6-4 and winning games where your (already excellent) defense isn't merely good, they've been almost superhuman and Jason offers flavors of Tretiak in stopping 14 shots for a 4-0/5-1 win.

Agreed.

Did you watch the game? Because the whole team really did stink tonight. This isn't even trying to rationalize a loss. It's honestly the truth. LaBarbera was far from the worst problem on the ice.

The funny thing is LaBarbera might drive Sanford out.

I was listening to hockey night in canada, and they said ... that they like JLB over sanford... and would rather have him in net when RB comes back.

I have no idea who they were talking to but thats what i heard.

He wasn't particularly good, but he wasn't bad either. The team gave their absolute worst performance of the year (on home ice anyway). Only Mitchell showed up to play last night, and with the amount of time-on-attack that the Blues had, it's a wonder they only scored 6. If you look in the Blues GDT, even they credit Babs for holding the Canucks in a game they really had no business being in at all.

As thoroughly entertaining as this thread has been (and boy has it), it seems we're all done discussing the trade itself. A running commentary of LaBarbera's game-by-game performance after the trade is better suited to the Vancouver forum - he's their problem now (please don't troll ). The Jason LaBarbera era in LA is mercifully over.
