Jokinen was apparently waived during the trade freeze in an attempt to light a fire under his ass.

Contract and timing may have been why Peverley was claimed today vs. why Jokinen wasn't claimed previously.

On another note, it seems to me the Thrashers work the waiver wire more than anyone else.

This is their first waiver wire pick up this year, and last year the only one was Mark Recchi. With the exception of Krog, who they waived, was picked up by someone else, and then they got him back when that team waived him.

I harbor no ill will towards Pevs. Something had ot happen with sully coming back tonight. Unforuntately, Pevs is in an offensive player in the mold of a Bochenski or a Haydar etc. Almost too good for the AHL, but not quite good enough for the NHL. Good luck Pevs!

This is likely because we're about to trade Perrin.

I think that, if it happens, he'll go to Pittsburgh (He played amazing with Dupuis), or Minnesota (Our scouts have been seen at their games lately). Probably for a 5th rounder from either team.

I think Slater's gone, personally.

I think we would be very fortunate to get a 5th for perrin.

Slater cant be traded! Hes one of Waddell's picks, Don wouldnt even move him for a first.

Maybe a homecoming to Montreal packaged with Schneider?

Were your scouts scouting the picks...or?

Can we start calling Atlanta "The Peverley Hillbillies" now?

Wow. That's pretty good...although it's more appropriate for Nashville.
