The reason why Dagostini has stopped producing is simple: he's picking his spots instead of working all the time. It can work in the A, but not in the NHL. He's lacking the desire and the drive he had when he started. When he came, he was involved in plays all the time. Right now, he's not. He's just waiting for a loose puck, instead of working.

He'll be sent back in not to long from now, if he doesn't pick up the slack.

Agree... this make the most sense.

If you're looking for traide bate for a 4th dman... why not Tanquay, a second line prospect and a pick to start. There will be teams deperate for a top 6 forward at the trade deadline so they can make it into the playoffs.

I completely agree with this. He's lost some serious jump....and he's playing the perimeter game now and he's not skating hard enough. Time for a wake up call.

Probable lineup when Montreal is repaired:

Tanguay - Koivu - Higgins
Pacioretty - Plekanec - Kovalev
S. Kostitsyn - Lang - A. Kostitsyn
Latendresse - Lapierre - Kostopoulos
Begin, Laraque

With Dandenault as a healthy scratch for Montreal's defence.

Price
Halak
That is a hell of a line-up!

Does anybody know if there is any chance whatsoever to expect Laraque to come back againts Boston on tuesday, that would really be excellent, the last he played Lucic woudn't even dare taking a hit.

I would keep Tanguay for the playoffs. Gainey didn't acquire him for nothing.

The buyers, teams that are gunning for a playoff run and willing to acquire a UFA like Tanguay, won't want to sell their top-4 D-men, especially not puck-movers with PP ability like Montreal is looking for. These players are extremely precious.

The teams that might be willing to deal such a D-man would not be interested in a pending UFA.

LOL, at people wanting to trade Tanguay. He is one of our more experienced players, these players become very valuable come playoff time. Trust me, Tanguay will be a huge contributor if this team goes anywhere this year.

seriously.. you have no idea how dangerous tanguay and our team will be dangerous in the playoffs, our play as of late proves this, were built to be a strong strong dangerous playoff team

we get 1 more decent Dman and i beleive it honestly puts us over the top, you dont need a goal scorer when the well oiled machine starts running, especialy not with this team

what a dumb question!!!! You gotta love serge! Is ovechkin an inspiration for you???? WTF???? Was that a Renaud Lavoie question? He once asked Kovy if the reason why he started playing better was because he started to give an effort!!!! Kovy's facial expression was priceless...He was like: did he really say that?!!?

He make at least one bad error every game... i guess he cannot admit his errors.

Luckily he put up some points otherwise he would go in the O'Byrne category.

Actually, you may want to take a look at their GDT, they're far better than the whiners from Boston/Ottawa we have the "chance" to endure every year...

no "Habs are soft" or "They're diving all over" kind of posts, and they don't call the Kostytsins sisters either...

In fact, I Highly recommend you go there to read, might give you ideas as to how to rephrase that great post of yours... you know!

does anyone else think that Montreal and Washington are very similar teams talent wise ( young stars ), and they will be very close for a while to come, giving the Habs a slight advantage only in between the pipes.

We haven't faced the Caps with Price in net yet this season.

I agree. It's not like UFAs command a lot of trade power anyway unless they are of the impact variety

Keep Tanguay and see where the chips fall later.

Missed that. I imagine it was that standard look he saves for those questions.

When they played at MSG he was asked if it was special to come back to NY where his career took off. He basically shrugged and basically said no with that "Why would I care" look?

The battle of Ontario is for draft order now.
Not to take this off topic, but, my money's on Ottawa. I was at their game last night(free tickets) and there is no life on the team right now & that building is absolutely silent during play. I was directly across from the bench in the third level & I could hear Hartsburg talking while the play was on.

I taped the Habs game on my vcr; thank god for ancient technology & am just watching it now. Much more enjoyable knowing the Habs win it in such dramatic fashion.

Didn't we go on a bit of a run this time last year similar to this run? It's starting to feel like last year, where the team is starting to gel, and bringing up Pax is similar to bringing up Baby Kost, which in turn seems to be pushing the vets also? Let's hope we keep rolling into Boston!

I agree but with what we're seeing from D'Agostini and Pacioretty right now, Tanguay does not need to be re-signed next year.

Between the pipes AND defensively.

The only thing that keeps them on the top of the conference is their division and their first line.
