I'm pretty sure that he missed a couple of very important playoff games last year against detroit. Last year I was one of the supporters of bringing back Forsberg and while i still love the guy i'm not so sure i want him on back on this team with everyone healthy

He showed last year he can not only play, but still produce. With him, i think theyd be a better team. And if he did get hurt and did miss playoff games for the first time in his career...so what? They are no worse off then they were before the signed him.
I believe he missed the entire 2001 (was it?) run for Colorado with the spleen thing. I remember him coming on the ice in his jersey and jeans (or whatever). That being said, he is a heck of a playoff performer, but so is Danny Briere and a few other guys we have up front.

I definitely remember one of the times the Avalanche won the Cup he was not in full uniform, he came on the ice in just his jersey. I thought it was the spleen year, but I could be wrong.

Can't afford him.
He'll cause all sorts of BS distraction.
He'll do what he did last year to the Avs where he could barely play in the playoffs (when you want him).

Sounds like a good idea to me.

say what you will, but foppa in no way can hurt this team...in fact, he'd be an incredible addition

The only way he's an "incredible addition" is if he's out on the ice, and not gimping around on his ankle(s?). At this point, I don't trust the guy. There's no denying his talent, but will he be there when it matters? Ask the Avs that one (from last year at least).

Homer's regular response to every query about a potential player move is that you have to consider everyone who might improve your team. He says something like it every time. It doesn't mean he's legitimately interested.

Flyers don't have cap room. Don't have a need at forward. And have been down that rocky footpath before.

He definitely didn't suck in Philly. Creed sucks though.

i would think the Flyers would be smart this time upon signing him. I know hed get a physical but i would want him to play 6 games with the Phantoms etc before playing here. And if he doesnt like it, then just say no. Its not like Roy or Hasek, a need we might have (Biron has played great), we dont NEED another fwd messing things up. We have been doing well without a top FA signing for most of the year anyway.

We at this moment can't even afford to bring Briere back into the lineup, let alone bring in another player

I love Peter, I'd love to have him in the lineup again. I can only imagine him playing with someone like Carter.

If we can fit Forsberg under the cap and lose no one signifigant, It's a no brainer.
