Not sure if the Pens can afford having Kubina's contract with the current economic uncertainly and the contracts already on that team. Value wise its not bad.

I d have preferred it if you had asked for Staal and Malkin to be honest.

YIKES! Our first is shaping up as a top 15 pick at worst right now, and if Therrien isn't replaced soon we'll be picking in the top 10. That pick alone is overpayment for Kubina in my opinion.

Am I to understand that Boucher is a salary dump?

I'd suggest...

If the deal was done relatively soon...

Boucher (salary dump), Stone, 2nd in 09

If they waited til the deadline...

Boucher (salary dump), Stone, 1st in 10,

Or, if we really wanted Boucher gone...we could just waive him, instead of giving up a first round pick ()...it was Sydor that was signed after 35 and would have counted no matter what...Boucher can just be shown the door if it comes right down to it...

Kubina would be pretty sweet to have on our PowerPlay with his shot and the fact that he can actually hit the net with it (Letang ) But Kubina's cap hit of 5 million and the asking price possibly being a 1st, I'd say the Pens will pass and look for a cheaper option if they think they need an upgrade on D.
