gainey has stock piled talent... now its time to trade a few good ones for 1 great one.. we have a lot of great inventory and have the depth to make such a trade!
Gainey wouldnt be doing his job if he wasnt calling around trying become a better team.. i do believe that is his job.... ice the best team possible within the cap...isnt it?
just because you hear it doesnt mean its going to happen.. so for those who post.. wow.. we are going to have malkin, vinny, as our centres.. give it up... I talk about going to florida, myrtle and phoenix soon... doesnt mean I am going to all three..!!
Maybe, I'm mad, but I'd keep Pacioretty and surrounding ingredients than have that one superstar. Pittsburgh had three superstars, Malkin, Crosby and Hossa. But it didn't do them any good.
I agree with the way Bob Gainey is moulding this team, he's got, well, right now, the ingredients for 5 contributing lines, if everyone was healthy. I prefer depth throughout the entire line-up than just three players that need to be keyed in on. In a grueling play-off battle, the deeper you go, the more you rely on depth. Having all four lines contributing and rolling, rather than one, maybe two lines, sharing the bulk of the minutes, you keep your players fresher for longer which is an underrated trait come play-off time.
If we could get Malkin for Kovy and MaxPac, that would be a killer deal. I love kovy but he's aging and a UFA. I'm very impressed with MaxPac so far but you never know with a rookie. But Malkin!?! No way Pittsburgh trades Malkin for those two. They may trade him but would offer him up to the highest bidder and the offers would be substantial.
