This month? No. Bruins are too good this year, they are not going to miss many points. Only way Habs are going to catch them is by winning head to head matches remaining.

No game is easy but I think we could gain 4 to 6 points this month if all goes well.

Yes they can!! The Bruins are going to start losing more, they can't keep up their level of play for the whole season, they don't have the talent for that....so I think Montreal will be within 6 points by the time the month is over. God I hate the Bruins....LOL.

15 - Nashville
17 - at Ottawa (Watch for the possible new coach surge here, though)
20 - at Atlanta
27 - at Tampa Bay
29 - at Florida

The other three games left this month that I haven't put in the easy column are on the 13th in Boston, on the 21st in New Jersey, and on the 31st against Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, the Bruins' 8 games are as follows.

13 - Habs
15 - at Islanders
17 - at Washington
19 - St-Louis
21 - at Toronto
27 - Washington
29 - New Jersey
31 - Rangers

We'll give them easy ones VS Islanders, St-Louis and Toronto. That leaves them 5 challenging games.

I'm thinking that IF they win Tuesday, the Habs will be within 4-6 points of the Bruins by the end of the month.
I bet you anything Toronto somehow beats the ruins.

Also, yes and by the end of the season we'll be seeded in the #1 spot. Woooooot habs fan fever and speculation ftw!

Mark my words and the words of brownman: the habs will be 1st in the east by the end of the season!

Boston FTL

You never know.

maybe the bruins won't have any slump and they will finish the season with 130 pts.
Maybe the habs pp will work and we will finish with 130 pts .
Maybe the habs will get into another huge slump and we will finish 8th with 92 Pts.
Maybe the bruins will lose 10 straight and CLaude Julien will be fired.
Maybe thing will continue like this and the habs will finish 4th with 115 Pts and Bruins 1st with 125 Pts.

Remember last season? At this point of the season we had 8 less points. But do you remember why we finished first? The habs won the 10 last game of the season.

Do you remember ? We almost got defeated by the Bruins in the playoff , even after we defeated them 8 time in the season?

Nothing is won until the very end.Hell maybe it's Toronto that going to win the stanley cup!

Montreal has to beat Boston to help catch up. That's a 4 point swing right there.

All they should be concentrating is winning their games. The Bruins will fall, or they won't. Beat them head-to-head and the rest will take care of itself.

I would prefer a #5 or #6 position in the east at the end of the year, get in the playoffs healty and have a +- # 21 or 22 first round pick for Timmins (MaxPac was a #22 pick...) instead of a 29 or 30 pick.

That being said, we can catch Boston for sure.

Aren't the draft orders determined by the playoff performances?

Exactly; first place is nice, however, getting to the playoffs and winning is all that matters.

are all you guys crazy?

this is a message board for fans. We are not the players on the team who should not think about games being easy or not. what we type here has no bearing on the outcome of NHL games

I am here to discuss if it is possible for our habs to close on the bruins this month.

WITH THE BELIEF THAT THE HABS ARE THINKING NO GAME IS EASY..

yes, The remaining schedule favors the habs for the month and should close in on the bruins. Especially cause we are playing great and are expecting reinforcements soon and over the next month.(also some late christmas presents at the deadline?

Well if you think like that, then there's no reason to think Boston won't be winning most of their games as well.

Technically, they should win every game because there isn't one team they're facing that has more points than them.
