Fernandez joins the trio

Manny Fernandez is on the ice skating with Bergeron, Lucic and Ference this morning just about 30 min. before the full team is set to take its pregame skate.

So you can squelch those Manny trade rumors for a bit.

Fernandez??

Any of you insiders know what is going on????

I ask, because based on appearance and face value this is beyond the regular "hush hush" we have seen as part of the Bruin SOP for this year and last.

If it is an injury or some personal situation, I hope the guy the best....

.....however when there is this level of secrecy about this sort of stuff, I just can't help but think about Manny's exit out of Minnesota (I'm not talking about trade here).

Finally some good news, but I thought that they had called Rask up? Perhaps Manny still isn't ready to go?

I thought he was real close, but they say Looch is closer, so I'd guess Looch will be back for our next game (after tonight), and Ference sometime next week.

Matt, any word on whether or not they got MF a new tricked out nameplate, and why he wasn't happy with the original?

Seriously, I think Manny is with the B's for the duration, unless somebody calls and offers PC an absolutely outrageous deal.

Interesting to see MSP on the first line (I know Looch is mixing in). I wonder if that's where he would actually play if Looch is a no go.

I still believe Manny is hurting from the shot he took on his wrist before the game he played the other night. It's my guess.

I would be happy to see Manny stay for the rest of the season.

If he had been traded, I would have cried. I was upset yesterday with all the trade talk going on over a stupid nameplate. We finally have two great goalies playing in Boston, and folks want to trade one of them.....

I am not confident in Rask at this time and I'm not so sure he is all that great as others have claimed him to be. I heard he can let in some real stinkers in Providence.

Speedy recovery, Manny. I, for one, am looking forward to his return.

If the bruins could trade for a top 4 d-man and he's under contract for another 2 years and they'd have to give up Manny or Timmy, do you do it ?

I keep wondering the answer to that question myself.

What do you think LR ?

Rusty- if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Our defensemen have helped us get to the number one position in the East so far, along with both goalies. Why upset the apple cart over something that is not guaranteed in the long run?

Good example: remember Gonchar and Nylander? Oh, yeah, first round exit......

The last game Manny played he left the ice immediately after the horn sounded and seemed angry. He didn't do the usual congratulatory celebration with the team. Maybe he re-injured himself.

Good to hear..

However I wasn't implying a trade. I was implying the behavior exhibited while he was in Minnesota and reasons that led to him being traded.

I can understand that. But sometime it's good to be pro-active. Especially when it comes to long term planning of the team. If the b's will lose (most likely) one of their goalies wouldn't it make 'long term' sense to trade one and get a return that will be here longer than 3 months ?
But Gonchar is a great example going against that.

It's a tough decision to make. I am glad I am not PC.

One possibility is that they make a trade for a top 4 D and NOT trade MF or TT. I think I'd be all for that.

Are you back to being a mod again ? It didn't seem like you were off your post for very long. Things are better ?

I was thinking the same thing. That shot he took during warm-ups hurt him. You could tell. Damn Chara and that 100mph shot. LOL But I've been thinking that since this whole Manny has an injury thing started. He played that night...but who knows how it was the next day.

+1

Manny has looked excellent out there.

I hope he is here for the rest of the season (through the playoffs).
