Hopefully Nichol or Fiddler ... I really liked the way the roster looked the other night (Legwand on the wing with Erat, Santorelli with Dumont, etc, etc, etc)

Rich Peverley already had reached the airport on Saturday for a 12:30 p.m. flight to San Antonio and a return to minor league hockey.

That’s when he got the call. Don’t go, the Nashville Predators’ assistant general manager told him. You’re not leaving the NHL. You’re leaving this organization. The Thrashers have claimed you off waivers.

Would've liked to see him in Milwaukee, but good for him.

I would have liked to have seem him play his natural center postion here on the second line and would have moved Legwand to wing or the third line center.

Someone on the NP.com boards was watching the Thrashers-Leafs game and Waddell was interviewed in the first intermission. He said they'd be watching Peverley for a while and even tried to TRADE FOR HIM.

And we naturally we didn't trade him as we had plans for him in the organization.

No wait.

And we naturally didn't trade for him as his scoring prowess helped the team.

No wait.

Why didn't we trade him if, oh, I dunno, another team actually wanted him?

Peverly with 2 assists on Kovalchuk goals tonight. The 2nd was a thing of beauty.

a blind man could pick up assists on Kovalchuk's line against the Leafs 3rd line

you guys dont like him now or what? you seem awfully negative about his success for us tonight. he put in a huge effort. set up kovy twice and got to the front of the net for a rebound off of kovy's shot in overtime for the game winner.

haha alright. well hopefully he keeps putting in efforts like he did tonight. maybe he'll play better in atlanta than he did for nashville, who knows. all i can say is that i've got a good impression of him so far. cant truly tell a player from just a couple games though obviously.

Im enjoying what ive seen, His faceoffs have been amazing, and he seems to have been giving it his all.
I wonder what he would of offered for Pev's.

So far, Peverley's been excellent. It just goes to show that being in the right place in the right time can help marginal top six/bottom six players. He played over 20 mins. for the first time tonight, and never looked tired.

Jason Williams did alright in Chicago, and he was deservedly Public Enemy #1 in Atlanta. He was HORRIBLE. He'll probably do great in Columbus (but I'm not holding my breath).

But it's all good, y'all. May the Preds be successful in the future (after Saturday, of course).
