Salo will not be traded. He won't wave his NTC.

Another thing, why are people quick to trade Salo? It doesn't make any sense. Cap space isn't lost due to him being on the IR and as long as people aren't making unrealistic expectations (playing more than 60 games) he's one of the teams better defenceman.

Won't waive his NTC? Offer him to a true contender and he'll waive it before he even blin...err gets injured again.

Better defensemen when he's healthy and confident. But it's been getting worse every single year man, and he's just getting older. Unless Jesus Christ himself comes from the clouds and turns his bones into steel, he's going to continue to suffer from these never ending issues.

He's not even on pace to play 50 this year.

if we're trading salo, lets do it in the offseason unless you want a dman to go down in the playoffs and force us to dress nycholat and davison

Seriously? Or are you just being cute and saying he's snake bitten?

I wonder how long it will take Lou to get going... will he have a slow start like at the beginning of the season?

I don't know if it's legit as I haven't seen any official injury for it...

but a "snake bite" is often a term given to a skate injury caused by laces being tied too tight, causing a cut, then infection causing foot to swell up, and this is often referred to as a snake bite injury. maybe this was confused for an actual snake bite?

for anyone that has played EHM, they have a snake bite injury in that as well, and it comes up every now and then with players.

According to the Sun:

Quote:
One of those injuries was said to be related to a summer of 2000 incident when he was bitten by the lone venomous snake species in Finland during a round of golf. Really.

Jesus...this thing was no Garter snake, either. Poor Salo, that would freak the **** out of me.

Updated with Luongo and Pyatt off the list as Sanford has been waived so I'm assuming Luongo is good to go.

Yeah I was going to say... Sanford waived has to mean Luongo is back.

I've never heard that called anything but lace bite

Too bad about the ripper, I hope he's alright. Can't wait to see him back with the team, hopefully whatever he's going through is not too serious

How is 60 games an unrealistic expectation?

I'd say that's the bare minimum expectation, and if you can't be expected to hold up for that long, you might as well retire.

It's not something you like to speculate about, but you have to wonder if it's something like this, because it's weird for a guy obviously on the bubble to not come back ASAP. Hopefully it's not a major issue and he can come back in form as soon as possible.

Good luck Ripper.

Would not be the least bit surprised if the guy has become addicted to painkillers.

Salo suffered a set back today and is very doubtful for tomorrow's game.

Just send him to Hawaii, say Aloha, tell him to do nothing from now until April and bring him back for the Playoffs.

Coincidentally then, we don't have to waive someone or send Hansen down to the Moose again.

Man, I really hope Rypien is able to get his life sorted out and comes back. Definitely one of my favourite 4th liners, and hopefully it would mean the end of Mike Brown's time with the big club.
