There's really only a handful of forwards right now you could put up against getzlaf that would beat him in a poll. Corsby, Malkin, OV for sure. Then guys like Thornton, Iginla, Datsyuk. After that the top guys are either only barely better than him or equal to him at best. Getzlaf is playing like a top 5-10 forward in the game today.

What a different knowledge makes eh?

Jordan is 20yrs old, has played 3 seasons in the NHL.
Getzlaf is 23yrs old and has played 4 seasons in the NHL.

Wait till Jordan is 22-23yrs old, with the experience he will have he could benefit from that even more. But to compare them at 20 vs 23 because of their "NHL experience" as of right now is purely retarded.

I love how people make up these stupid threads, good stuff.

This is Eric Staal, not his bro.

its not that he's really any better than last year, i think people are just finally realizing it because of more exposure or better numbers. i wouldn't say he hasn't improved, but i was saying he was better than staal a year ago. people are just less hung up on staals 100 point season and are more accepting of how good getzlaf really is. that's all that's really changed.

3 or 4 years from now Getzlaf will still be better than Jordan Staal.

Yeah, Staal's having a down season for sure while Getz is having a breakout year. The results this time come as no surprise. We'll ask again next time Getz is slumping while Staal is trucking.

Getz,

Staal has 317p in 372GP. If he played outside the SE and somewhere else in the East he would probably have ~295p in 372GP, and if he played in the West he probably would have ~270p in 372GP. Still very respectable, but def. not Getlaf.

What if game's are never really good to get into. For all we know Staal would perform better in a different division. He also is really the only star player on his team. Not making excuses for him, but Samsonov and Ruutu are not really legit 1st liners... and our powerplay sucks too. doens't help much either.

Are you kidding me? Jordan isn't the Staal being voted on, and if he were it would that much more unfair to Jordan, and not just because of his age. 20 or 23, Jordan Staal is not the kind of impact player that Getzlaf is, and will be.

And what are tonights lotto numbers for Florida please, since you can obviously see things others cant Staal would do good in any division, he is a great player. But out of the two, its Getz.

Yeah my bad. I saw it on the main page and it said Staal vs Getzlaf. There is only 1 Getzlaf in the NHL but there are 2 Staal forwards in the NHL, an E. Staal would have been helpful. Or just my lazy ass going to the first page and seeing which Staal or scrolling up.

Haha...

Even if it was Jordan vs Getzlaf...there is no way in hell anyone would take Jordan over Getz..

Not only that, but he is trending up every year since he broke into the league. Hopefully this year he'll end up close 95-100 points.

You gotta be kidding me. Is Marian Hossa scoring more or less in the Western conference than he did in the Southeast division last year? More, way more, his PPG is way up to that if you calculate it over a full season he'd score about 10 more points playing in the impossible to score in Western conference than in the so easy to score in my mother could do it, Southeast division. I'm still taking Getzlaf but this idea that it's so much easier to score in the East and especially the Southeast is bull.

Playing on Detroit helps Hossa's stats, no?
