Breezby & the Cube

Tell me how do the Habs continue to win with these 2 jokes in the lineup, especially when they are paired together, it is downright scary, it would be amazing to get a steady defence defencement back there to take bouillon's place, still obvious need of a powerplay specialist back there(not kaberle) to replace brisbois

I agree they're absolutely dangerous for our own team.

They aren't premiere players and Breezy still has brain farts but I'm not scared when either are on the ice. Okay, maybe a bit of nervousness if a superstar is coming down Breezy's wing, but I like what he does on the PP so he's our best option right now

Quit hating, I think Patrice is playing his best hockey this season

I think both Bouillon and Brisebois are serviceable, but only one of the two should be playing on the team.

But I agree with Joey, Breezer has been good this season. He just needs a little less icetime.

The Habs will not be winning the cup with both Breeze and Bou in the starting 6. Mtl's biggest weakness is on defense, a definite upgrade is needed.

BG is on the case...I can live with one of these guys in the lineup, but not both, unless we have injuries.

I love how the mistakes Markov, Komisarek, Gorges and Hamrlik make are completely ignored and blamed on Cube and Breezer.

We have a phenomenal defensive system in Montreal to go with our great goaltending, hence why we're Top 5 in Goals Against.

I'd love to see people's reactions to Brisebois hoisting the Cup. "My god, the NHL must be worse than I thought if Brisebois can win the Cup while playing!".

Some people have no confidence in our team. And yes, I want Montreal to pick up someone they can place on the third string.

I don't understand the hate on Bouillon. As a 6th defensemen he is above average in the league. He hits, makes smart and simple plays, smooth on his skates, and actually has a pretty good shot that can create chances. I am happy with Bouillon in that 6th defensemen role any day of the week.

Why get a steady d-man to take Bouillon's place, Bouillon IS a steady d-man.

I agree that Brisebois needs to drop back to #7 and play less, but you are being wayyy too hash on these guys. Bouillon is one of the best bottom pairing d-men in the NHL, he plays physical, he is very tough and he makes the simple plays. Brisebois has had as many very good nights as bad ones this year. Not sure why people always want to throw him under the bus.

I wouldn't call our defense a weakness. We are 6-2 in the last 8 with Halak in nets, the defense must be pretty damn good to win with him in there. (not that Hlak is a bad goalie, but he is not a #1 on a playoff team yet).

Bouillion, overall is more reliable and more consistent than Brisebois.

When Brisebois is not in form, he looks really poor, but at his best he is tolerable.

bouillon > breezer

i dont mind the cube as #6 at all, i like his hustle, dedication and how he stands up for his teammates, and he doesnt get burned as much as some of you are making

as for breezer, i agree he should be #7 even #8, his braincramps are very frustrating, however he has come up with some nice offensive plays, but i would love to get someone to take his place, its really sad that obyrne has lost all his confidence

-I can live with The Cube.
-I could live with Breezby. His offensive game was compensating for his defensive weaknesses. But his recent D-Zone game has been a massive Fail. If we can get someone to replace him, I'd be happy.

I'm not saying the Habs D is weak, I'm saying the Habs D is the weakest link on the team as a whole. The forwards are fairly strong when healthy (even with all the injuries the forwards have been playing well). The goaltending looks to be above average with Price/Halak, it's the D that could benefit most from an addition (hopefully a solid top 4 with PP potential).

I agree that he has been in general, but I've noticed a severe drop in quality over these last few games. He was downright horrific last night.

Bouillon is fine, as others have said.

If Gainey makes a move, it should involve another defender so Brisebois can be an injury replacement.

We've also been scoring 5 goals a game...

Well..at the end of the day, we allowed less goals than the opposition. So if our D is bad, then other teams have real crappy D.

As for Breezer and Cube. I think they've dropped their D game a little bit since the beginning of the season.
But, like yesterday, Breezer does a horrible play giving up the puck, but then does a superb breakaway pass to Plekanec. So, at least he compensates for his mistakes.

Cube is awright, does a few mistakes here and there, but he's not that bad and he'll stick up for his teammates vs anybody.

They have their pros and cons, they just need a little less ice time.

Sure. Just like the 1993 Canadiens won't win the cup with Brisebois, JJ Daigneault and Kevin Haller in the starting 6.

No, not really, since I don't feel like dealing with the wrath of the Hamrlik lovers on the board today.

He's not as good as last year but I think he's been great recently.
