Two things nobody has mentioned:

1) Why wasn't Artfagin given a 5 minute major?
2) Loved seeing multiple Panthers block shots in the last minute with the goalie pulled.

What is this guy anyway? He is not a heavyweight fighter, they don't wear visors. And I don't remember seeing any videos of him fighting anyone decent at least. I go to hockeyfights.com daily so I should have. So what is he - except a dumbass russian?

You know, I'm not against fighting at all, on the contrary I like it as an extra aspect of the game, but attempting to injure a player is a different thing. And when someone does it multiple times, he should be punished severely.
Yeah, that was me who said it and upon further research, I was mistaken. It was Nikita Alexeev who collided with Weiss in '02, Stephen's seventh game in the NHL. Peter Worrell and Byron Ritchie went after Alexeev when there wasn't a penalty called.

I don't mind his physical game when it's legal. In fact, I wish we could see more of a physical game from us... finishing checks, making big checks, and maybe starting a couple fights here and there. But the intent to injure doesn't have a place whatsoever.

Well, 8th place was short lived as Pittsburgh is going to beat the Rags and will take it back. have to win tommorrow, a 4 point game out side the Division.

Right, but we have to win at least some of those. Point was, we're no longer in 8th place.

I love how this team believes they can win every game. The mentality is unlike any Panther team except maybe the year of the rat team. Pete really has worked wonders.

yep, pitts just won, so we are a point back of them with 3 games in hand, while being 2 points back of buffalo with 1 game in hand. the game versus buffalo might be the biggest this season to date.

Yes, it's going to be exciting to watch the Buffalo game.

And it might as well been Artjukhin in '02. Thanks Ghoste for checking anyway.

I agree! The league better look at that because that was definately an intent to injur and Artofag should be given at least a 1 game suspension. I really don't like players who play that way. It's a major reason why D. Tucker & S. Avery are at the top of my hated list. Artofag is climbing up that list fast.

Yep, Deboer has really done a masterful job so far. He has everyone thinking as a team and playing as a team.

btw I really like your avatar. Maybe you can photoshop Panthers jerseys on those guys to make it perfect.

I like the idea! Not sure how to do that. Also, might be sacrilegious to taint such a historical moment with a Panther jersey, lol.

If the team keeps playing the way it does... I expect a fine dinner of crow for you, sir.

Re. Monday's game. File this under--"What's Bad for Them Has Got to be Good for US":

"He's (Numminen) the second Buffalo defenceman to be hurt in the last week. Andrej Sekera sustained an ankle injury Wednesday against Chicago and will be out at least two weeks."

After all the injuries the Panthers had in the early part of the season, this doesn't make me feel bad at all. I hope they all twist their ankles so we have to play their mothers. We need the points.

We'll probably hear something tomorrow, I haven't heard anything. I'm expecting bad news though. Certainly didn't look good.

I thought that they won't televise it because of this Versus thing, but it looks like it's in FSN.
