Good move by TB. They need D depth badly.

Good pickup for Tampa. One of their first good moves in a long time.

Cheap salary for a decent player. You'd have to think Tampa will have some ice time for him.

yeah, and we can't call Lundin up too in case someone else grabs him, so any help we can get is good right now

I don't see how this will help the Bolts. While on the Panthers, Murphy was a liability in the D zone, couldn't push people off the puck and was tossed around. His shot from the point is not hard at all, its weak. He utilizes the wrister to get deflections.
However the one play he made that I will forever remember was his pass to Horton vs. Montreal. 10seconds left, Murphy at the point. Passes to Horton in the circle and Huet is way out of position. Horton scores and Panthers STEAL a 2-1 victory from Montreal.
Anyways he has had injury problems for over a year now and hasn't been the same since looking good at the start of last season. Good luck with him TB.

Personally, I love how if you click Cory Murphy's name (or any player's) on that site it takes you to Florida Jerseys for sale (or whatever team). What a trap.

Am I wrong in supposing that TB's Dmen wouldn't be all injured if they got forwards that had better two-way game in general?

Yes that would be wrong for the most part. Heward was hit in the corner by an elbow from Ovechkin and Ranger was hurt clearing the crease after the whistle.
