Actually, it is very, VERY close. Please start talking out of the hole in your head as opposed to the hole on your back.

Now, it is a tough comparison, and I think Samsonov's injury days are over (for now). He has had some bad luck with freak injuries...so what?

However, I still think Havlat is slightly better.

Nope, you have never seen Samso play. And do not count this year, since it was littered with injuries.

Since the thread-starter doesn't want Samsonov's injuries taken into it...I'd choose Sasmonov primarily because there are few small players that can cycle and play in traffic as effectively as Sergei does. He's extremely underrated in that respect. He's hard to knock off his skates and does a lot of dirty work down low. I prefer him over Havlat only because of that ability.

Havlat. He's a bluechip cornerstone that you can build an entire club around.

havlat constantly has these groin injuries or other nagging problems that tend to keep him out. so while he's played more games the last few years, he's certainly no iron man.
i also think havlat is a coward. hides behind his shield and his teammates, while using his stick as an axe. there's no denying the guy's talents, but i'd take samsonov for his skills, hockey sense and courage.
You dont know half as much about Havlat as you think you do. Havlat didnt even back down from Messier in his rookie season. That's back when he weighed like 176.

Without injuries I think i'd pick sammy, but its 1.a 1.b
