Need a good bounceback win, I think. Play a solid game and win comfortably

I think I'm going to end up watching this one at work, since it's inauguration day and I work right next to the mall. It was interesting enough getting to work this morning; it'll probably still be a mess by 5:30 or so

I don't know what to think anymore. After watching the debacle in Pittsburgh Sunday and reading about "Tommy Tinkerer's" latest set of asinine line up changes, I'm getting to the point where I simply don't expect much in terms of effort anymore.

Most NHL teams have pretty much figured out BY THE ALL STAR BREAK how their lines are constructed and what works and what doesn't.But oh no, not the Rangers...no no no,we have Coach Renney who plays with the lines every game like its a gawddamn Leggo set.

I'm just with this team at this point.

The lines are still not 100% confirmed.

Quote:
- January 19th

Update, 12:21 p.m.: Sure enough, Tom Renney is shaking things up, although the coach was quick to caution nothing was in stone for tomorrow against the Ducks. Among the highlights: the return of Dan Fritsche to the lineup after 20 games, as well as Aaron Voros.

In this scenario, though, Lauri Korpikoski and Petr Prucha would be scratches. If that is the case, can’t say I see it. Neither player was stellar in Pittsburgh, but no one was.

The full lines:

Markus Naslund-Scott Gomez-Ryan Callahan
Nigel Dawes-Chris Drury-Dan Fritsche
Aaron Voros-Brandon Dubinsky-Nikolai Zherdev
Fredrik Sjostrom-Blair Betts-Colton Orr

Update, 12:48 p.m.: According to Renney, the new lines were in part a function of needing to get Voros and Fritsche some practice time at forward since they had spent the past few weeks practicing as spare defensemen.

Check out back here after tomorrow’s morning to see if the two are in or not.

Based on past performance by Coach Dungforbrains what do you think the odds are of Pru and Korps playing tonight?

This guy has to be shown the door.

This is a double whammy as the Rangers need points and the Ducks have to lose for the Coyotes, who will probably lose tonight playing the Red Wings.

LETS GO RANGERS

The only line change I want to see is Dubinsky to wing. I really hope Renney didn't change too much up or move Prucha out of the line up.

+1.... He's had many months to find lines already. I know you can't force chemistry, but c'mon, more then half the season is over. If we can't even get 1 line to stay together besides the 4th, how are we supposed to even have a fairly good playoff run. Renney needs to get his stuff together, and fast.

LETS GO

It looks pretty likely though.

This is from Sam's blog today:

As for the current Rangers, it sounds like Aaron Voros and Dan Fritsche will play tonight at the expense of Lauri Korpikoski and Petr Prucha, but we’ll confirm later from the skate…

Btw, out of curiousity whereabouts in Norway are you from Loffen? Many Ranger fans where you live?

Makes sense to dress the tougher lineup tonight. Ducks play maybe the most physical hockey in the league right now. Looking forward to this one. Maybe Orr/Parros will get reaquainted again?

OT But...Going to the game, and trying to head in early. Fedor Emilianenko, Tito Ortiz and bunch of MMA fighter from Affliction are going to be in Manhattan for a press conference. Want to get there and meet them.

Out in the boonies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hvaler.

Not that many fans were I live, but there are a few Penguins (Crosby) and Anaheim fans. Hockey's not that huge, soccer is sadly the most popular sport in Norway.

I understand Renney wants to shake things up after that dreadful game on Sunday, but taking Korpikoski out doesn't seem right. This is a kid who never seems to take a shift off, plays well defensively, and is slowly starting to find his offense at the NHL level. I am a Renney fan, but it is frustrating to see the only two players ever being held accountable for a bad loss are Petr Prucha and Lauri Korpikoski.

Hvaler's an amazing place in the summer!

I come from a place called Ås, 20 minutes south of Oslo. 2-3 Ranger fans here. I don't really count Penguin fans over here as fans. Bet they couldn't name more than 3-4 players at most.

So benching Korpi and Prucha is Renney's response to shake this team up? What a shocker!

If I was Prucha, I would request a trade myself. He has been looking very good and this is how Renney repay him.

Yea, it is mind boggling how two of the hardest working players on the team (Korpikoski and Prucha) are scratched in favor of one of the worst players in the league (Voros) and someone who hasn't played in what? Two months? (Fritsche).

Renney makes these really mind numbingly stupid moves sometimes.

The only reason i can think of that would make sense is; Anaheim is a big team, and Renney may want more size in the lineup for the game.

Problem is, this move reduces the talent level of our lineup.

This team usually reacts well even when facing larger opposition. when they stick to their game, they take away size with their speed. Taking out Prucha and Korpikoski is dumb

Have you ever heard the expression "30 Foot Country"?

Places like China, most of the former Soviet Republics, they all look great until you get closer than thirty feet then the faults become glaringly obvious.

Sure the record is sexy, but on closer examination what do we find? A multitude of faults.

Like I said, I don't know what to expect from this team anymore.

My older brother's law firm gave him front row, center ice seats. I'm so jealous.

The lineup is from yahoo so take it with a grain of salt. I just looked over his gamelog and he does average 15 minutes per game.

I'll be at the game tonight in 219.

I don't understand why Voros is so disliked by some fans, the worst player in the league??? That's harsh, don't know what the guy's done to deserve that label. Even if he's not scoring he wins battles, he's good in front of the net, and he skates. More importantly he's not a liability, it's not like he's playing BAD.

I understand the scratches of Prucha and Korpikoski, you want Voros instaed of Prucha tonight for size and Fritsche needed to get into a game at some point, Renney probably wanted to get him into a game before the break and ran out of games. I would've maybe scratched Sjostrom instead of Korpi, but it is what it is.
