Why even show up? We know the result before we play.

Clearly Kovalev's type of game...the All-Star game I mean....He'll shine there for sure. He was probably resting so he could give a great performance.

Someone needs to show Pleks videos of him always going behind his attacking winger. He did it a gain tonight and the defensive team has it easy if both players are withing ten feet of each other. He is being a girl and won't head straight up the middle and look for a pass or a rebound.

LOL....cue the blame the coach posts.....let's face it - poor defensive awareness by our D and weak goalie positioning were a big part of the problem tonight.

As far as the O goes....kudos to Pac and the Laps line. The rest should get slapped silly. Some games we just plain don't want to work and skate in order to compete. This game was a classic example.

The coaching staff rocks...the players have to stop smoking and downing shooters and concentrate on winning hockey games .

the last stretch overall has been good but it makes you wonder how this team is gonna even compete in the playoffs. Basically it will be night in and night out playing these types of games against Boston, NJ or whoever and this team is unable to fight through it.

I have severe doubts of this teams ability to play in the playoffs. It makes for decent regular seasons but they are absolutely outclassed in games like these.

Is anyone surprised?

The Devils own us. It doesn't matter who we have in our lineup, how we are playing or how they are playing. Aside from a brief 3 game stretch last year that was clearly a fluke, they beat us time and time and time and time again. They get goals in all fashions, their goalies are essentially brick walls and our team just completely falls into a malaise against them.

If we face them in the playoffs, it will be a slow and painful death. 4 or 5 game loss without a doubt.

This is why losing last night was so f***ing stupid and disappointing. Why didn't this team REALIZE they can't beat NJ before last night's game and throw everything into that game. Just dumb.

Some players looked either gassed or looked forward to their 5 day break the last 2 nights. Just atrocious. We better see a FAR different team next Tuesday against a suddenly hot TB team.

This year's team may have more points than last year, but at least last year's Habs owned the Devils and the Bruins.
