Meh... I'm not worried. We should get a better team after the All-Star break.

If Kovalev is injured, I'm hoping that he skips the weekend activities as he sure hasn't been playing well lately. We'll need him down the stretch!

There is this one guy who's small and a warrior as well.. I think his name is soku koiva or something of the sorts.

It's frustrating & disappointing, but I still think we can beat NJ when everybody is back & healthy & a move or two before the deadline.

We just can't beat them right now...

two completely different players, Saks at least gives a ****, we must get rid of Pleks while the 27 yo still has value, my hope would be for arnott.

But you must agree they just can't win against the Devils or Carolina and have tons of trouble against the very bottom teams.

They just can't play that weakly against those teams. And for the most part it is the floaters like Kovy,Pleks and the Kosty bros that don't show up. I am glad guys like PacMan,D'ago , Stew, are coming up and show a willingness to grind it out and go to the net for rebounds . Kovy and the others just hang out around the perimeter . I may be a little harsh on AKost but the others just float tooo much

Take the time and think about what I said. They wont' beat the Bruins,Caps,NJD,Philly, and without winning the division won't be able to play Buff or Pitt etc ..so if they finish 4,5,6,7 they will play either the Caps/NYR/Philly or NJ .

Like I mentioned only NYR play a soft game like the Habs do and players like Gomez,Drury,Naslund etc are like our Kovy , Plek and the Kosty bros in that they don't like traffic and tough games.
Wow! Someone with some clarity here....nice to see and nice to read a poster that has a clue.

We need to tweak...and that means some of our fluff players (as mentioned above) must be moved for some character, guts and desire that can put the puck in the net. It's time for a bold move to take us up a level in the never say die realm. If only we could transplant the heart of one of Koivu, Kost or Laps into one or all of our ballerina's....we'd be serious Cup contenders.

Bouillon has been one of our better defenceman in the playoffs the past few years, upgrade Brisebois with another solid defenceman and we'll have three solid pairings. Plekanec has just been pathetic though and if we could get a Jason Arnott type guy for Plekanec + i'd be all for it.

You know some are saying we don't have enough physicality for the Devils but last year for the first time in years we beat them. And that was because of skills and speed. That's just it: we don't have the super-weapon that was the A46-Plek-Kovy line of last year. We could beat the Devils because they were simply too slow to trap us. But age caught on Kovy and he lost the speed he had and as such Plek and Andrei do not have him to make them look good.

Last time I checked, if you don't beat the right teams, they end up in the top 8 and you end up in the bottom 7. But essentially I get your point. It sucks if you end up 2 points out of the playoffs though, and look back at a season series record of 2W4L against a 15th place team or something.

the whole team was brutal.. Up front Pleks and Kovy had another rough night.. Defensively Brisebois stood out among the worst of the worsts..

Our defense is crap and our forwards can't concentrate on offense. Komi, Gorges, Brisebois and Bouillon should learn how to pass the damn puck. Komi, Hamrlik and Gorges should learn how to slapshot.

Edit: Do the Canadiens have a defense coach or something?

Bouillon and Breezer pairing is awful, Breezer needs to go.

Sergei is looking pretty ham fisted out there also, blows a lot of plays for his line in O zone.

This loss doesn't bother me much because it was expected. The loss to Atlanta was also expected but that one was a bit more annoying because I thought we could of beat them.

Seems we are hitting a cold streak, so the 1 week break will do us some good.

I think giving Higgins and Koivu time to practice with the team again will do us some good.

I'd rather we hit a bad streak now then in the playoffs. On the other hand, I don't want our team to go into the playoffs tired if they have to battle for the 8th spot. But anyways, we have a safe cushion for the playoffs right now so we can lose a few more games without too much problems.

Yeah, someone who says there's at most one team we could beat in the PO sure has a clue...

should ask if if we should pick Tavares or Hedman... you know...

I thought the puck went off Pacioretty, yet the goal is still given to D'Agostini.

I think Gainey obviously knows he needs to address our D, problem is that there aren't a lot of D out there available and it's not like Montreal isn't the only team looking for help on the back end.

Toughness up front, yeah we need it. Problem is the only toughness up there with some skill is young in MaxPac and Lats/Lappy/Kosto play a good game, but it is a 3rd/4th line game...and we need top 2 line skill-grit.

Habs are a good team, but have obvious flaws and needs.
