March 8th Bruins Game

Hey guys, Bruins fan here trying to organize a trip from Ottawa to NY to see the big bad B's play the NYR. Only problem is, the game is on a Sunday and on the sched it says TBD. We need to know the time of the game to figure out the trip, so do you know when they will announce the time? My assumption is that it will be a 1230 game because it's on NBC on a Sunday. Let me know if you can shed some light on the situation. Thanks.

More then likely early afternoon like you mentioned, I think they are only obligated to announce it a week or two prior to the actual game. Think I read that around here from forechecker or something.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's 2 weeks before the game.

Schedule the trip for a 1230 game. The worst that can happen is you'll be hanging around in the bars for a couple hours.

How bad could that be?

Precisely. I just hope the game isn't at 12:30, would be awful to have to leave home at 10:30 for the game. I hope NBC picks Pittsburgh vs. Washington. The whole Crosby vs. Ovechkin thing.

Wouldn't it make sense to just schedule the trip assuming the game starts at 12:30 and adjust accordingly?

Thanks guys, you've been a lot of help. The problem is that is the game is at 3, it will go to around 6. then the 8 hour drive back to Ottawa will get us back around 2am or 3am...That's what I'm worried about. But it does make sense to plan it assuming the game is at 12:30, then adjust if we have to. As for tickets, should I just get them off stubhub.com? I can find 4 together for about 90 each....or is there any alternatives?

If you want to get them from the box office, the Rangers have been releasing tickets closer to the day of the game. So I would check Ticketmaster often to see if anything pops up.

I wouldn't go ticketmaster unless I really, really had to. Either get them from Stubhub, or there's the ticket sales thread on this board where people sell their tickets at a pretty reasonable price.

Thinking about it now, ticketmaster might be an issue since your looking for 4 tickets. The board here would be your best bet since everythings face value.

It could be 3 PM, too, but you'll get the official start time a couple of weeks before the game.

Could also be a 3:00 game. 12:30 games end at 3:00, so it wouldn't compete with Crosbaby.

Didn't say NBC would have the game. 3:00 pm game on MSG is not uncommon on a Sunday afternoon.

Yeah, the game against the Bruins last March(the 0-0 shootout win) wound up being a 3:00 game on MSG.

I always find it odd that in hockey, we always invade Boston yet they have hardly any fans at MSG.
It's not like that in baseball where the Sox and Yanks bring fans both ways.

It's werid how Boston just doesn't travel to New York in hockey in big numbers, I wonder if they will this year or if this just illustrates that MSG/the Rangers have the bigger/loyal/harder base.
Makes me proud to be a Ranger fan.
