Markov is a top 5 dman in the league. Although this should be closer than the ill-fated Kaberle poll, it should still be a clear victory for Markov.

I must admit my opinion on Markov has dropped very much since Montreal's lethal PP went to the Islanders.... I mean, with Penguins you can explain the drop with Gonchar/Whitney/Malone. Montreal has everyone but Streit. It really hurts Markov's rep. as a PP quarterback.

Would rather have Bouwmeester now and more so in the future. Markov is a more visionary passer but it isn't by anyway near as much as you'd think looking at the assist totals. That's just a product of Florida starting out really badly and Markov being on a team that scores a hell of a lot more than Jay's Florida.

Markov wins this one but not by to much.
I agree that my comment was not necessary, I was trying to pass my opinion that Markov was clearly better by saying that all the J-Bo voters were habs haters, and then I thought that maybe some of them are just Panthers fan, but shouldn't have put it that way.

Sorry if it offended anyone.

What does your username means? Komisarek for the Vezina trophy? Sorry if I broke your dream but it's impossible if he doesn't play goalie.

I have to object to basically the entire content of this post. For starters, Markov's efficiency on the PP is exactly what it was last year. He's on pace for 32 points on the PP this season, exactly the number he got last year. If there are problems with the PP, they are not found in Markov.

Also, even if his PP production was down, his overall production is actually up this year. He's on pace for a career best 65 points, so I don't see how anyone's opinion of him could actually go down this year.

Markov's team that scores a hell of a lot more than Florida actually has 13 more goals on the year. Markov has 12 more assists than J-Bo right now, so making the case that his assist totals appear better only because of the team he's on is far-fetched at best.

In his defense, he also has not had much of a chance, playing for that terrible Florida team. He gives them the opportunities, but nobody converts them.

I voted Markov, but I want to see what Bouwmeester can do on a real team.

Markov clearly though Jay Bo seems to be still improving and I think will close the gap in the coming years.
