Does anyone actually own this jersey?

Its on nhluniforms.com as a 'bonus uniform' for the 02-03 season....

The caption reads...

The newest entry in the rejected third jersey department is this creation courtesy of the Dallas Stars.
The Stars had the jerseys made up and had started selling replicas in stores before cooler heads prevailed and the jerseys were ditched.

So did anyone actually get to pick one up before they were taken off the shelves? Id have to assume that if they went on sale at all the only place would be the Stars official store at the arena.

And for the record, the stars old white uni is one of my all time favourites in the NHL. I actually own the old black one, I bought it way back in 1998 when it was still the third.

Oh why did your franchise have to abandon such a briliant uniform?

I think I remember reading that it was ditched because it clashed with the new uniform specs or something, when they were revamped league-wide.

I have seen them around every once and a while. I don't have one and I don't really want one either.

I wish I did. Saw one this past Saturday.

This was the jersey before the mooterus...I heard the players refused to wear it.

Which is RBK-speak for "We're going to take your money."

I would say it's a good thing the gold jersey got ditched, except that plan B was the Mooterus. Anyway, gold never works as a hockey primary color. See: Nashville's old 3rd

However, gold goalie equipment? Perfect.

Yeah, the key is actually the shininess factor, as weird as that sounds. Flat gold looks awkward, shiny gold looks good. That's why gold football unis work.

Makes you wonder if Turco got his pads to match the jerseys before they were abolished.

You're an idiot if you think . . . . nevermind.

I've seen a couple of people at the AAC with the jersey, but I certainly don't own one. Other than the star jersey, which became the official jersey for nearly a decade, the third jerseys under the Dallas Stars have been pretty bad.

I like the gold one, personally.

Much better than having to see the freakin Mooterus, that's for sure.

I meant more football pants/helmet. Those Niners and Rams jerseys aren't real, just made for fans things. I actually think the Purdue one looks pretty good. Vanderbilt has a similar look:

ok, yea gold pants and helmets look sharp. I am not a fan of gold jerseys anyway you make them. In fact right now Purdue uses a black jersey with gold helmet and pants

I can't stand gold jerseys though. just for good measure it doesn't work for basketball either.

It wasn't gold. It was a dull mustard yellow. That was the problem, or at least one of.

Was it better than the 'Mooterus?' That's debateable, but both losing sides of the same argument.

The graphic doesn't do the color of that jersey justice. It is a pukish, mustard yellow. It was only ever sold as a fan jersey, thank god. You see a few here or there at the arena, but not very often.
