This is not happening. The Rangers are trying to DUMP a defenseman, not acquire one.

would've loved to have seen Jovo in a Rangers uniform...10 years ago...

I didn't read the article, but did he say how the Rangers could take on the $6.5MM contract? I would think that PHX would be looking to have a net decrease in salaries if any trade were to go down. Of course you have to get through the NTC, which isn't out of the realm, but still, it's a point to maneuver around.

Exactly. The idea that Gomez, Redden or Rosival is going back to PHX in a deal - an overly optomistic viewpoint to begin with - does not align with the financial strategy of the Yotes. And the team's improved play of late, albeit relative, does not suggest that massive, multiple-deal moves are coming to clear the cap space required for this.

I could see a Rozsival + Prucha for Jovo trade happening, because if I'm not mistaken, wasn't Maloney one of the main advocators for signing Rozsival out of the lockout?

He might have been, but not for $5 million a year.
