I really enjoyed it. I think they did about as good of a job as you can in covering 100 years in 60 minutes, my only suggestion would have been to talk more about the nords/habs rivalry.

Gainey was saying that this team is special not only in Quebec, but you can go all the way west to BC and find people that really connect emotionally with this franchise. That is so true.

I love the habs even out here in BC and everything they stand for.
agreed, cbc had to admit, that the leafs are not the team of the world, but the habs.

but i must admit, to much music, should have been more stories about hockey

Are you serious? Which city? I get sent to Santiago a lot for work, and I will absolutely hit up your spot if I'm anywhere near.

Is anyone else thinking "Road trip"?

Congrats Rscorpio, I'm sure it will be a success.

Hey, I'll make you keep my money just to make sure you can keep spreading the message: I've tried hard to get the Chileans interested in hockey when they come up to our offices in Canada.

I tend to travel with Sens fans (I'm a Habs fan in Ottawa) so I can only imagine how they'd flip their lids if we show at your place.

If we can work out the timing, I board-promise to show up and take pictures for this very board, Habs jersey and tuque and all.

That's exactly the reason why this speical stood out and was so interesting. Why on earth would you want to change that? At first I thought it would be an other one of those documentaries on the team I saw 40 times. But this one brought a new fresh angle that made it so enjoyable.

I agree.

The main thesis of the program was to show the living cultural significance the team has had in Montreal, Quebec and Canada throughout the franchise's history. It's easy to argue that the Canadiens are a special team just by focusing on the cups won and the great players. However, representing the team's historical significance in the political, cultural and pop cultural realms throughout the program made it much more interesting than the hundreds of other segments we've seen that examine the team as just a hockey team. Tying the team into Canadian history as an institution that has reflected, responded to and symbolized change in its city, province and country was an excellent way to argue that the Canadiens are much, much more than an excellent hockey franchise to its fans and the country.

ya, true

but singing had to bearing on how the stars of the habs played,

asking the players , about missing curfew, that was good

should have had more towards the emtion of the fans, and the team played in the hearts of every little kid

it was not a brutal show, just saying would have liked more CH talk

Thats why it should a been 2 hours, you would think that the CBC could have gave us extra time, not a bunch of stuff turns 100 daily in our Country, but they say that you will be able to watch the extra footage online,

My tax dollars are holding them to that, still it was very refreshing look of Montreal & the Habs... Just too short

I've been quite surprised by the lack of Habs specials and documentaries about this special occasion of the team's 100 years birthday on the french side. You would think this would mean something to the french-speaking people. I would attribue this to the usual RDS laziness.

People, please start downloading the torrent (who doesn't want this in their collection?). I started it last night and it's completely stalled, no peers. Thanks to Tricolore for starting it:

I recorded the file on my computer, and uploaded it here. It's got commercials, since... I couldn't be bothered to delete them. I'll seed it for a little bit. If you download it, please seed it for other people for at least a few hours.

Cool, thanks, just started DLding. I havn't downloaded a single torrent since getting my macbook pro (paranoia about keeping THIS computer clean). I'm using bittorent, but the site you gave me suggests Transmission for Mac. Is that a valid suggestion. I'm not an expert on torrents.

Just got transmission and started the original torrent (from tricolore). Wow! much faster DL speed. Guess bittorrent client sucks for mac at least. Thanks for the help guys. I bookmarked
http://www.nhltorrents.co.uk
seems like it will be useful in the future, like for the SC parade vids or "Lats spotted at Belle Pro".

Strombolopoulos quoted Béliveau's book. And "that's exactly what I mentionned in my book" said the no 4.
