I know its not a physical game, but it is nice to appreciate some of the skills these guys possess. Malkin just scored a beauty and then Rick Nash followed it up with a great one.

Lots of puck possession, good cycling, stick handling. I guess it all depends what you like to see.

Every year we hear these same exact complaints. What the hell do you expect to see? Huge body checks? Fights? Crashing the goalies? It's an exhibition for crissakes. Stop taking it so seriously and just enjoy it for what it is, harmless fun. I'd think you could stand it for one weekend out of an 8 month season.

No, it's not that i want to see someone killed...
It's the time i'm complaining about.
If millions of people wanna see an ASG,they can have it.
But do it after a Season when you know who played like an All Star

If every team didn't have to be represented and was picked objectively, what do you guys think the teams would be?

My picks:

Eastern Conference Forwards: Malkin, Crosby, Ovechkin, Savard, Parise, Elias, Carter, Kovalchuk, Backstrom, Richards, Lecalvalier, Heatly

Western Conference Forwards: Getzlaf, Datsyuk, Thornton, Iginla, Marleau, D. Sedin, Hossa, Doan, Nash, Perry, Zetterberg, Hemsky

Eastern Conference Defense: Bouwmeester, Markov, Green, Chara, Streit, Wideman

Western Conference Defense: Boyle, Weber, Lidstrom, Souray, Campbell, Pronger

Eastern Conference Goalies: Thomas, Lundqvist, Miller

Western Conference Goalies: Backstrom, Khabibulin, Luongo

Brown has the least amount of ice time through two periods.

I suggest a lottery system to reward the winning conference in the AS game. Each team from the winning conference receives 3 balls, 3 balls are elcted from the hopper, so you have the opportunity to gain up to 6 points in the standings. It would give the game some meaning and I think there may be a little more "effort" from both sides. Nothing but luck but I was trying to think of a system that would copy what baseball has done.

so it can be like the NFL Pro Bowl, the worst and most meaningless of all all-star games? lol

I hoped you watched the 3rd period and OT - great fun

Does he look like the second coming of Hasek to you?

i've been watching timmy thomas for the last few years - always amazing, totally unorthodox style.

btw - he's UFA at the end of the season.

When he's going crazy in net, most Bruin fans are nonchalant and know he'll somehow be ok. When he's handling the puck behind the net....oh man, that makes us nervous.

I thought it was actually the most exciting all star game in quite a few years. Some really pretty goals.

As long as Ovechkin is a part of the all-star game, it's fun to watch for me He got caught checking out 2 girls on the jumbotron.
