Was looking around for a good face-off/power play guy that may be expendable come the trade deadline. My first thought was Doug Weight after hearing about his success early in the season. After checking out his FO% I realized it wasn't going to work out.
Phoenix needs a Todd White, our Top F/O guy is Hanzal at 300ish in the league. Also Todd White is not only getting it done in the circle, him and Kozlov are the 2nd most lethal tandem on the Power play putting up 14 markers.
This addition has potential to put Phoenix over the top if their PP can get on track.
This move would also allow ATL to position themselves into the Tavares Sweepstakes.
Atlanta might consider White for a pick and a good young RW (and pencil in Little or Esposito as the future #2 center), but he and Little have awesome chemistry and he's signed for the next 2 seasons for decent money, so Atlanta will keep him.
White was soooo bad last year, but now Waddell looks pretty smart for making him the first signing of that FA season.
