Very good actually... as per the press release.

(Ryan) O’Byrne, assigned to the Bulldogs on December 31, 2008, scored five points (1 goal, 4 assists), posted a plus-7 rating and served 27 penalty minutes in 13 games this season with Hamilton.

The last few games he's been very steady and producing on the score sheet. Helped that he was paired with Jancevski, allowed him to find his game.

We are willing to pay Komi big bucks to stay a Hab, yet the sheep all wanted his blood in those two rookie season undr Rick Green.

I hope folks do not over react every time O'byrne makes a mistake.

You're mistaken. O'Byrne was not injured for a lengthy bit of time before being sent down. This is not like the Briere situation.

I'm glad O'Byrne's back. Looking purely at his stats, it seems he played halfway decent in Hamilton. We've lost the last couple of games, the D hasn't been stellar, and there's no way Brisebois (and maybe others) should feel as if there's nobody to take their spot. I hope Breezer sits for a couple of games and the kid gets a shot on the road before the team comes home this weekend.

RE Laraque. I suppose we'll want him around for the Boston game, but with Higgins getting the green light, I don't see where Laraque, and even Begin, fit in. No reason to sit the kids (D'Agostini and Pacioretty) IMO.

My lineup - for the Florida games anyways:

Price
Halak

Markov/Komisarek
Hamrlik/Gorges
Bouillon/O'Byrne
Brisebois = healthy scratch
Dandenault = IR

Lang - A Kost - S Kost
Plekanec - Kovalev - Pacioretty
Koivu - Higgins - D'Agostini
Lapierre - Latendresse - Kostopoulos
Begin, Laraque = healthy scratches
Tanguay = IR

No actually i am NOT mistaken. he was sent down on a loan, which i believe is 2 weeks and for it to last longer the player which is O'byrne in this case has to agree to stay longer.

I just want to see the crowd reaction to Brisebois's 1000th game in Montréal.

Good i had great hopes in him as our 4th defensemen prior to this season. If he can stay on his skates we will have had some grit and size on the team.

I think he will have a good showing.
2 road games down south.

He just needed to get a little confidence in Hamilton.

i think its simple.

Obyrne has a shot to remain on the club for the rest of the season .I think the leash is real short this time . I see it as last chance " for 2009"

if he doesnt preform this time? Gainey makes a trade for the solution .

I'm glad he put up good numbers in the Hammer and seems to have some confidence back... because Brisebois can't handle everyday work.

Good for him! But the timing is pretty weird... All our injured players are coming back and we have too many players in montreal now....!

Nope, you're wrong. O'Byrne's not waiver-eligible yet. He's a few games short.

I was thinking the same thing. Does Max or Dag get sent back down?

Weren't the Habs basically playing with fire by having just 6 guys around since Weber went down? You need to have a spare in case there's an injury in warmups or whatnot. Especially if there's a road trip coming up. O'Byrne is still our best/most-ready young defenseman, so he's the logical recall.

He actually has been very good going plus 7 I believe and actually putting up points and logging big minutes.

I hope he comes back strong!

Well we only have 6 healthy defensemen and one of them is Brisebois. I'm surprised they went with 6 this long.
