Predict the Canadiens season

Here's a little test. Take a piece of paper and the Montreal Canadiens 2004-2005 schedule.

Try to predict every game's result (W-L-T-OL) and write it down on the paper. Try not to be biased, and when you're finished, calculate the results in each month and for the year. Post the results after.

3-3-1-1
-------
8-5-0-0
-------
5-5-2-0
-------
6-7-1-0
-------
8-2-2-2
-------
6-9-1-0
-------
2-2-0-1
-------

38-33-7-4 for 87 points

After doing this, I realize I have an unusual amount of games going into overtime. My end result may be a bit generous.

October 4-2-1-1
November 6-3-3-1
December 5-4-2-1
January 5-4-3-2
February 7-3-3-1
March 8-6-1-1
April 2-2-1-0
Total 37-24-14-7

That's a total of 95 pts. I figure they'll get low 90s, high 80s. so probably a few of my OT losses can go in the loss column. Probably during 3 games in 4 nights, which I didn't pay attention to when looking through all the games.

Lets see...

5-2-1-0
-------------
5-4-2-2
--------------
5-5-0-2
----------
6-5-2-1
----------
8-3-2-1
----------
7-7-2-0
------------
1-3-1-0

Total:
37-29-10-6 for 90 pts, right on.

We look pretty much the same, isn't it?

I think it will be in the 90-95 pts range, and maybe in the 95-100 if Theodore can stop some rubber like he is able to.

Oh, by month it's too complicated.
I was expecting something more simple.

Let's say : if BG signs Kovalev (or another winger as good as Kovy), they will finish between 4th and 6th in the east.
Or else they will finish 6th or 7th like last year.

ot: Mauresmo really rocks in feminine tennis. She just outplayed her opponent 6-1 6-0 to win the Montreal Tournament.

Ciao !

Agreed.

Theo has to stop letting in soft goals and become a more consistent goalie than a streaky goalie. Well...now he has his chance with a goalie who most likely wont challenge him for a starting position. If theo can stop being a streaky goalie, look out, the Habs could easily finish somewhere in the top 5 in the east next season imo. Now obviously our Defence will have to be good as if not better than last season. This imo is very possible though as Komo has had enough experience now to play a decent game, and Markov has settled down after the death of his father. My only concern is Souary after the way he performed in the playoffs last season, but im hopefull that a full off season should bring his game back to the level we expect, defensively anyways!!

Total 46 points out of possible 84 or 0.548 winning percentage. As you can see I believe the lock out will be setlled by mid January. If it's not, we can all kiss the 2004-05 season good-by

Mooch i agree with you, Souray has to step up and play like he played before his injury last season. Theodore had a good year last year but his playoff performance was really bad, especially in some games against Boston, and i think theodore will lose a lot of his 'star goalie' status if he doesnt prove everyone that he IS the real deal and that he should be considered as one of the best goalies in the nhl. And if i'm not mistaken, he will be in his last year of contract this year so he has to play a huge season to be able to get the payraise he certainly wants.

I decided the results of the game like if a was a computer

OCT: 4-3-1-0
NOV: 7-3-2-1
DEC: 4-5-3-0
JAN: 9-3-2-0
FEB: 6-5-1-2
MAR: 5-8-3-0
APR: 3-2-0-0
==========
38-29-12-3 = 91 PTS

I think it's pretty fair.
I took me 10 min to calculate everything. And i didn't doublecheck. So i'm objective.
It's not a homer result.
