Higgins in vs. T-Bay, maybe O'Byrne

per Habs I/O

Higgins, who has missed 19 games with a shoulder injury, will start the game on the fourth line with Saku Koivu and Matt D'Agostini.
So.... best fourth line in hockey?

Even at this early stage, an argument could be made that it's the 2nd or 3rd line (not in icetime but as offensive threat).

The writer has a point: the first 3 lines have been pretty productive (taking in consideration that the last 2 games were gimmes).

I find it weird that we don't have a real 4th line now.

I'm pleased to see Higgins back in the line-up. Like him or not, he's a true NHL'er and here's hoping that he can contribute immediately.

As for O'Byrne... meh. I'm not thrilled about the news.

I'm pretty sure Lappiere Latendresse and Kostopoulos is our official "4th line", they are energy guys who can chip the occasional goal. It's all semantics.

Lapierre has been our most efficient center at some point, specially on the faceoffs. Plus, he's mostly covering the other team's best units. Why put him on the 4th now?

This line warrants at least 13-14 minutes per game of play. Not some 4th line time.

5 on 5 I think Lapierre line will get plenty of icetime. But on the powerplay? I think this is where it's going to hurt.

Who's gonna suffer 5 on 5 then? Our "new" 4th line?

4th line in icetime for at least the 1st period... (until carbo juggles the lines..)

Those guys are coming back from injury, no need to press them too hard.

Isn't it obvious that O'Byrne was called up to play in Tampa for Lawton and the team to evaluate in the trade for Vinnie?

That's why Higgins has been cleared to play!

That was my thinking too. We'll see Saku on the PP for sure but I don't see Higgins getting monster minutes unless he comes out on fire. Funny how Higgins is on a line with a guy pegged by some to be the one to take his job.

Isn't D'Agostini supposed to be the mini-Higgins (but slower?) Anyhow that was last year's report IIRC, this year he's been quicker than I expected.

If you ask me it's a push as to who will score more goals. Either way, with these guys making up a line, something's gotta give when Tanguay returns. D'Agostini is going to be playing his hardest minutes now that people are returning from injury - I don't see Max Pac getting a ticket to Hamilton any time some.

Anyone else hoping the injury has improved Higgins' aim?? (Anyone except Erika K that is?)

Dago and Higgins look so similar. Now we'll have two lines with perfect symmetry.

Why oh why...o'bryne. Back to watching the team being an eyesore. That is the most devastating news since Ovechkin winning that breakaway challenge.

Boullion >Brisebois>>>>>>>>> O'Bryne.

first of all, boo rocks, i don't get why people doubt him, he's got tons of skill and speed and emotion! As for Bacardi Breezer, all the gaffs he's made lately he has recovered for them (blocking the shot, getting puck back). Also he's been making great bomb passes and doing little things to get out of the zone quickly.

If Higgins comes in and doesn't score a goal immediately: "It's time to move on from Higgins. He just doesn't have it anymore. We need to get rid of him for a Top 4 D-Man."

If Higgins comes in and is an immediate scoring machine: "Higgins is absolutely on fire. We need to trade him for a Top 4 D-Man while his value is still high."

I am personally more impressed by our 5th line, which technically is at this point:

Tanguay-Begin-Laraque.

Higgins to TB (e5) jokes aside, this team really should move a forward.

This argument is why I am also pro resigning Olivier Michaud and trading for Yan Danis.

Forget Price and Halak, we need an all creepy doppelgangers team.

Kostitsyn-Anyone-Kostitsyn
Higgins-Anyone-D'Agostini
Sedin-Sedin-Anyone

Matt Carle-Matt Carle (who cares what they look like, it's close enough)

Danis
Michaud

Lol. Komi? Maybe Markov. No Gorges or Hamr.

Come on Brisebois is far in away our worst D right now.
