I think Brisebois sitting is more-so because he needs to sit a couple times over the next few weeks.. so that he plays his 1,000th game at home.. it would of fallen on the beginning of a road trip.

hahaha...the posters on the rds talkbacks are flipping out that Begin is benched, they can't comprehend why, it's quite hilarious. One guy suggested to send Pacioretty and D'agostini down to make room for Begin. Lastly one guy said he doesn't understand why Kostopoulos gets to play more than begin, he said it's all Bob Gainey's fault even though Carbo makes the lineups.

Here's one guys reactions to Breezer and Begin being benched "encore les quebecois!?"

I don't even think these guys watch hockey.

youre wrong, they do to count how many guys born in quebec, or how many people who have a relation with quebec (AKA Sidney Crosby, CLaude Giroux... sometimes Patrick Marleau) are playing for the team or could be acquired by the team

The sad thing is that my first reaction when I saw that Breezer and Steve were scratched was "good thing Carbo's French because the city would riot if an English coach did this."

i dont know how ignorant people can be (RE: begin, breezer benching).

its hard for me to believe that they think this should be a "quebecois" team.

i dont even wanna get into this debate.

go habs go

Let's face it - these moves were predictable and obvious, not to mention exactly what should have happened.

Brisebois has exceeded expectations, but he shouldn't play every game - his game deteriorates when he does. Alternating he and O'Byrne, in some fashion, makes perfect sense until we pick up another D-man (fingers crossed).

Re Begin, you have to love his "gameness", but with all the Habs youth there's just no place for him. What are you going to do? Break up a hot line (Laps/Lats/Kosto)? Bench a 27 goal scorer (Higgins)? Not welcome back your captain? Farm out kids who have looked great and are the future (maybe even the present)?

The real decisions come when Tanguay and Laraque come back. Unfortunately, we'll like see the kids head back to Hamilton - for now anyways.

I hope Obi can bring it tonight.

If not, look for Alex Henry to get a phone call shortly.

Why, does no one call Alex, does he have no friends?

I like when Begin gets benched cause it pisses him off and when he comes back he plays like a wrecking ball

Who do you take out in Bégin's place? Do you send down anyone? With Tanguay and Laraque still out, if he doesn't sit out now, he's gonna sit soon.

O'Byrne is a different issue. He sucked before he was sent down. Breezer who took his spot as no. 6 D, played well offensively, but his defensive game has slowly deteriorated.

Do you give O'Byrne another try? It's a judgment call by Carbo. We'll know if he was right if O'Byrne doesn't spontaneously combust when the puck stays a few seconds in our zone.

Pierre McGuire just said on CJAD that V. Lecavalier might not play tonight because he felt some "discomfort" in his shoulder this morning during the morning skate...whether he will play or not, McGuire did not know...

Well, I think we should win the next 35 games in a row. However, on this roadtrip, to make it a success, we need to win the next two games. As for the start of our mini home stand we should also sweep those games as well. Hopefully with a more or less full lineup the team will start to play better.

Trade imminent (E5). Lecavlier's reception in Montreal left tears in his eyes and a changed outlook on the city.

Seems to me that Vinny is suffering from Heartache. He couldn't possibly play 100% against his own team. He'd rather sit. Good call Vinny!
