Good, couldn't have asked for better finish, our best line on the ice, couldn't get it out of our zone.

Vinny don't want nothing to do with Montreal. He likes it where its quiet and nobody bothers him.

Need more softies? Hey, maybe Spezza will come here. Gosh, I want Guy to show his team tapes of a team like the Flames. They crash the net, they skate and forcheck hard and they show tons of grit. Sure their D and goaltending aren't much better off than us but if we had their forwards, we'd be in a much better place right now. And they're doing it with arguably less talent than us, although it appears our talented could be a bit overrated.

We lost to Boston, getting outclassed by a clearly superior team. Then we barely beat Nashville, needed a SO to beat Ottawa (though we had played well enough to win in reg.), and then the 3 straight losses, each possibly worse than the one before it.

And Florida has something to play for indeed. They're in a race for 8th and though we've beaten them three times this year, only one was actually convincing (the 5-2 win where Lappy had a hat trick). Anything less than that effort and we're cooked again. Knowing this team, we'll wake up for the good teams coming up but what it comes down to is we suck on the road now. We're so bad on the road, we may be incapable of winning in any arena at this rate, ok ok maybe GM Place.

But something needs to be done obviously. This is a good reason for people to get pissed. The Habs aren't showing any signs of being much of a contender this year and these slumps only confirm that. I just want to get to the conf. finals, that's my highest expectation. But I expect we'll be out in the 1st or 2nd round and that depends who we get to face.
nah Canucks have Luongo. French goalie curse.

I know Gainey is a patient GM but he as got to see the problems with this team after watching over half a season now...Problem is I don't see any significant changes coming in the near future either....Just a brutal pathetic effort tonight from the Habs after the first period....

Don't worry....Tanguay will be coming soon.....Gainey did address the grit and the toughness with that great acquisition. And THE tough of the team can't play 'cause he's always hurt and his injury was already known....

Can a 5-year plan last 8-10 years?

Montreal was very unlucky tonight.

Smith stood on his head and TB score at least 3 really really crazy lucky goals!

Montreal deserved better even with their lousy performance. TB wasn't good they were very lucky tonight!

Just play out the season and go golfing. Bob isn't going to do squat with this team.

Maybe I should avoid the board for a bit.

I could practically compose the panicked overreactions, the melodramatic wails of doom, and the whipping of the current media bandwagon of this-team-needs-more-grit(-even-if-it-makes-it-worse).

Bad games happen, people. Sometimes even bad stretches. Especially on the road with players coming back from injury.

Unlike the Bruins, the Habs don't have enough miracles to escape them all.

I was watching the Washington/Boston game and it was an all other level, it just wasn't possible to enjoy the Habs game after that, they were sleeping. Well let's see what they do against the Panthers.

I hope our goaltending wakes up soon...both guys have been in the crapper the last 7-10 days. The team played pretty good games in Atlanta and TB and lost because of subpar goaltending...CP did not make the big saves against NJ either.

In the end, the goal is to go further in the playoffs than our usual 1st and 2nd round. Do you imagine going much further with teams like Boston, Washington, Jersey and Philly? The only thing that could happen so we could pass the 1st round are the Rangers. Anything else looks like another early exit...

The Habs were at that level in the 1st...unfortunately they fell asleep.
