Wow. That's a really long contract.

At 6 million per is a steal though.

Even tho that contract is too long, the price per year is a deal! NH, Detroit.

Good thing for hockey!

I could be positive to have way less big contracts...but in another way, we can argue that Zetty wants to stay in Detroit and get paid less for it.

He'll be getting 6 mil a year at age 40... I know it's probably a good call to lock this guy up long-term, but really?

Edit: Just read the full article, and I understand that it's an average of 6, but only 1 millions in real salary a year over the last 2 years. But still, guaranteed money at that age...

What a steal.... Contract length may be long, but Zetterberg at 6 mil a year is a great deal.

So he'll be a redwing through age 40. Got him locked up for life. Not bad for a great athlete and individual.

For Zetterberg, $6 million per annum is robbery.

so that makes him a red wing until he's 40...

**whoops, couple other people already posted that... 6.0 million for Zetterberg at age 38 / 39 / 40 is worth 6.0 million for Zetterberg at age 28 / 29 / 30

Zet 6

Good deal for the Wings. Worry about 12 years from now in about 8-10 years, when inflation will likely bring the cap up to about 80MM$/yr anyways, and then they could probably just flip him to some team with cap room if need be, assuming the salary cap system stays the same as it is now.

That's really not even fair.... He'd get 10 on the open market.
