Outside of the beautiful pass that led to Gagne's goal and the goal that got called back because Timonen got called for a penalty...

Yeah I thought Richie did fine, that line had a good game which is an increasingly rare occurence.

I see what you are saying and agree, but he could be better. He needs to have more impact like when we blew the lead against the thrashers he was the one who carried the puck and distributed it to knuble he was in charge during that shift. Yes he had a point last night and was in on that terrible play with Timmo but he needs to be more right now. I bet he is the best player by far against Tampa, he recognizes his role and duties and I would bet he wasn't pleased with his impact not effort last night.

i'm wondering how much longer that line stays together. they had that streak where they were just on fire, but something's not clicking now.

I don't know if anyone caught the Florida announcer's mess up last night.

Hartnell was skating into the zone, and he kept going "Richards has the puck, Richards skates up." The puck got knocked loose to behind the net and Hartnell (same person) skates in to get it, and he goes "Now Hartnell goes for the puck."

Dumbass.

He had a point, what should have been a goal, and 6 SOG...complaining about his play last night is silly.

I think the top two lines need to be shaken up. I would leave the third line alone for now, as I think theres alot of chemistry there, but Richards' line hasnt seemed to do much in a while (other then the goal last night) and Carter's line doesn't appear to be nearly as dangerous as it once was.

I think a shake up would do alot of good.

I've been saying this forever, but the Gagne-Richards-Knuble line just isn't going to be a consistently great line.

Gagne-Forsberg-Knuble was a great line because Forsberg is a very methodical player.

Gagne-Richards-Knuble does not work because Richards is not Forsberg, both Richie and Gagne want to enter the zone with speed, with the puck. The problem is that Knuble's style of play is the worst possible combination for the line. He's not a good skater and he has awful puck control.

That beautiful cross-ice pass from Knuble that Gagne scored on is an extremely rare occurrence. Put Briere on that wing and we'd be seeing it a lot more often.

I don't think it's really anyone's fault (except Stevens), it's just that you have 2 opposing styles here and Knuble is really hurting the other 2.

Switch Lupul with Knuble. I think Knuble is more suited to play on that line. Carter shoots from anywhere and Knuble gets to the net.

Hmm, the idea of Gagne-Richards-Lupul is certainly a bit intriguing.

I'm not as sold on Hartnell-Carter-Knuble though. Hartnell-Carter-Giroux might be interesting.

I dunno, I'm the President of the "Briere to wing" club, so my view is probably different than most on the board. My ideal top-9 would be

Gagne-Richie-Briere
Hartnell-Carter-Lupul
Upshall-Powe/Metro-Knuble

The thing is that I see a fundamental problem with Gagne-Richie-Knuble, it's opposing playing styles.

I don't see a huge problem with Harts-Carts-Lupes outside of maybe lack of a distributor.
