The problem is: Kaberle's NTC wouldn't disappear after the trade to MTL and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't accept a trade to TBay just after being traded to a contender. I would be very happy with Kaberle for the reasons mentionned earlier by Ape Clutch.

This D corps would be awsome:

Markov-Komo
Hamrlik-Kaberle
Bouillon-Gorges
Breezer/O'Byrne as 7th Dman

The Canadiens are in need of a puck-carrying defenceman, so they might be interested in Bouwmeester. The other possibility for the Habs is Tomas Kaberle of the Maple Leafs. Kaberle has said he'd waive his no-trade clause, and GM Brian Burke would want draft picks and prospects in return

Ya for sure those D pairs would be deadly, no you've go 2 smooth skating, puck moving deffencemen in markov and kaberle, and also 2 bigger bodies with komi and hammer.

also anther great player to go get would be boumester....either way it salitifies on the blue line. and NO more brisbois !

Montreal doesn't need a smooth skating D-man, they need a mean SOB who can block shots, push people around and who isn't afraid of anyone.

Are you saying only smooth skating players can Play hockey? whacked!

Montreal's problem isn't skill, Montreal's problem is the lack of Balls and the desire to win through thick and thin.

Chomp on that.

DAMN!!! I was hoping there might be a possibility that the Habs might make a move to get Kaberle, but now that Eklund mentioned it, I know its never going to happen, just like all the other RUMOURS he starts!!!

why would he get Kabs then immediately try to get him to waive his NTC? Wouldn't a 3-way trade make more sense? But then Kabs would have to agree to go to TBay which is doubtful.

Maybe Anaheim would trade Pronger.

I don't know the likelihood of him being available, but I would take him over Kaberle or Bouwmeester, assuming they're all around the same price.

I'd be very happy with Stephane Robidas (125 hits, 75 blocked shots, $1.5m 09/10) if it doesn't look like Dallas will secure a playoff position in the west at the trade deadline.

People have been talking about the possibility of kaberle all season long....
because i dont agree with you, i have to shut up?

I just have to see you have a sergei avatar to see what kind of player you like, to know that you dont know hockey.

What do you think we need? More goals, or to prevent them? Kaberle does not fit the ned right now, i dont get your point.

Our PP needs a shooter, he is not. We have absolutely no character on D besides Komi, and he brings no character.

We can pass the puck up all we want but once the play is in our end and Lucic, Thornton, Wheeler, pound away on our soft D, it wont make a difference.

I am reassured by the fact that Eklund has a rumour out there about Kaberle in Montreal. This way, he won't likely come.

One can only dream!

Robidas would be the perfect fit! More so, we could add some grit upfront, or maybe even a certain Lecavalier?

Kaberle for Higgins, Halak, 1st pick. If I was with the Leafs organisation I would take that deal and run.

If Burke was offered that he probably would take it but I am not sure they really have a need for Halak though..I don't think a player like Kaberle is what the Habs need...They desperately need some toughness and grit both of which Kaberle doesn't bring to the table.IMO someone like a Souray type player would be more suitable to the Habs needs than Kaberle...

Watching this Habs team (other than the Laps line) skate around the perimeter like a bunch of figure skaters is getting really frustrating to watch.....

O'Burned?

PS. Did Gainey really offered Higgins for Sundin?
