Duncan Keith

What would the Blackhawks want for him? I saw him in the WC's and in a couple Blackhawks games and he's pretty near my favourite defenseman. Obviously they wouldn't be looking to trade one of their top two defensemen, but with Kane and Toews needing new contracts and that big one Campbell's got on their books....

To CHI:

Mike Komisarek
Mathieu Carle
2nd round pick

To MTL:

Duncan Keith

Too much or too little?

There'd be some major overpayment to pry Duncan Keith from Dale Tallon's hands.

Not going to go anywhere, sorry.

This should be a Duncan Keith appreciation thread.

He isn't going anywhere.

Could be the best player in the NHL that nobody talks about.

Keith will not be traded, so his value is meaningless.

Well - if the Hawks trade him they'd be looking for a legit top pairing d-man who makes about $1.5M per year for the rest of this year and next, and is a RFA at that point.

In other words - no one.

This thread is pointless, there is no way in hell that Keith is traded.

The price for a nearly untouchable talented young player is going to be another nearly untouchable talented young player.

Given his cap hit and the Blackhawks' current cap situation, Keith may be the single most untouchable player in the NHL.

But considering that
1)Toews, Kane and Keith are all up at the same time, after the 09-10 seaon
2) All three will be RFAs
3) The Hawks have $25 mil already tied up for the 10-11 season in 6 players
4) The Hawks can't drop huge contracts to all three, Guessing the Hawks could spend $15-17 mil total for all three

Would someone drop a $7-8 mil offer sheet for him?

Where are the Leaf fans with their Antropov for Keith and two first round picks scenarios?

LOL, what?

Way to little, try:

1st, Subban, Maxpac, Komi, conditional pick (regarding Komi re-signing). Is that overpayment, you betcha, but you don't get Norris potential, 28 minute/ night defenseman for anyless than major value going the other way. Add in he makes 1/4 what Campbell, Boyle, Redden, and Niedermayer make and he is one of the most untouchable players in the league.

I am a Sharks fan, but Keith is one of my favorite players in the league. In terms of play, I think Pronger, Lidstrom, Weber, Niedermayer, and Boyle are the only western defenseman who are arguably better.

There is virtually nothing that the Habs could offer to get him away. The guy's a stud.
