Mine wasn't indicative of the current slump either.

My thoughts exactly, they need to get one of these type of players that can put the puck in the net consitantly and isn't afraid to mix it up go into corners do whatever it takes. Lapiere and Kostopoulos do that but obviously don't have the offensive touch the players listed do other than Laps 2 goal performance the other night but he's not going to do that all the time. I'd like to see them this kind of forward and a key PP man on the point

Yeah lets go back in the years, it will solve all problems.

Koivu, Kovalev, Higgins, Tanguay (although injured I know), both Kostitsyn, Plekanec, D'Agostini... they're all in a very similar mold. They can show grit at times, but it's not in their nature. Nothing wrong with that, but you need a better balance in your line-up.

I know the guy is getting old but i wouldnt have say no to Brendan Shanahan. Imagine him at the spot of Kostopoulos with all the scoring chances. I bet Shanny would have bury 80% of those scoring chances. And having a veteran canadians that knows what winning is wouldnt be bad either.

Bieksa is the only one there who has any grit.

Yeah no doubt personally i love shanny, guys tough and man does he have hands in front of that net and he definitely can pot alot of goals on the pp on the side or infront of the net and thats another thing hes the type of player that will go in front of the net

Injure Koivu again.

We have leadership issues with the team, the Euro's seemed to respond better when Kovy was captain and the N.American's seem to never give a crap regardless. Just keep Koivu off and see AKost and Skost and Markov fly back into their groove.

Or we can just relax, give it some time and THEN freak out.

Looking at this, Timmins is not the semi-god everyone think he is...

the gm's still have to make the final assessment and decision on who to draft based on what his scouts tell him, so in that sense, it doesnt matter what timmons thought about x being better than y if the gm didnt listen...
secondly i believe it was muckler who traded away a lot of picks/prospects to leave the sens in the mess they are right now (well..murray deserves some blame with the contract mess)

What's that? Oh you have to be a Hab fan to post in this thread? Oh, yeah, I knew that I was just ... just passing through the neighbourhood ... and *covers Leaf jersey with sweater* yeah alright I'll be seeing you later then.
I agree, I think Kaberle would be a great fit for us.

And to your second point! haha

Basis for Deal #1

to NYI
C.Higgins (he looked to be playing well last night, showed some burst)
D.Fisher
Islels get younger

to MTL
T.Hunter
B.Witt
Habs get effort and grit

Whatever else needs to be added to balance added in (picks prospects)

Yes please. But the Habs would have to add more because Hunter is signed at $2M for a while and Witt is signed for a couple more years. Hunter is 25th in the league in hits and Witt is 28th for blocked shots despite missing 10 or so games. He seems to block shots at the most opportune times too.

Call up Weber.
Send down O'Bryne & Sergei Kostitsyn
Sit Brisebois
Bring in Sabourin for a very low pick
Trade any of Halak, Andrei Kostitsyn, Higgins, Gorges, Koivu (2 big losses, but for value)
for a puck moving D-man and a forward who plays on the inside with some finish.

How about: Koivu, Higgins, Kostitsyn, Halak, and Gorges and high picks to Tampa Bay for
Vinnie and Paul Ranger

Sign Conboy and Tropp to a deal with performance bonus(depending on the number of people they can hurt per year).
I hope that was for the whole post!!!

First off Koivu has a NTC and he ain't waiving it to go to the Lightning....

O'Byrne brings what the team needs and no clue why you would send Sergei down. Sure he has been inconsistant but he is a 2nd year player give the bloody kid time.

Package 2-3 players for Pronger. Higgins + Plekanec plus prospect. Pick up Doug Weight for fringe prospect. Then maybe, it could be in farm system all ready, but look to deal good prospect for some sandpaper. We are too soft

1- Sign Komisarek long term
2- Make a blockbuster trade for a star Dman
3- Ask for playoff hockey every game, every period, every minute. Fini les vacances!
4- Get a Canadian foward. (Nothing against Europeans and Quebeckers, but we need that kind of Iginla,Doan guy leadership.)
