A guy who dominates during regular season, but chokes at playoff time when the games matter? Thanks but no thanks.

Who cares? He is as close to dominant as this league gets.

A passer, to start. I think, especially last year, if Carts was moved to wing and he had JoeT with him, my god....can you imagine?

Hartnell - Thornton - Carter.....

The question was who would you take. I would take JoeT...its purely based on wanting a player and how you see things working out. I don't care if it doesn't help the team a ton, I just would love to see JoeT and Carts working together to set records.

I agree that hes very valuable and i would love to have im but to say someone is the most valuable player in the league would mean that their team wouldnt be the same without them and the Devils have been doing just fine without him. Take Ovy off the caps and I dont think they would be so successful.

I was just going to make the same point CGB....Not to take anything away from Brodeur, but I wouldnt call him the most valuable individual player at all...I would have to think about that one actually

Actually I always dreamed of Thornton paired with Gagne....Plus he already has shown chemistry with Knuble so that line would be KILLER......Richards can play with anyone so move him down with Hartnell and another winger

Gagne Thornton Knuble
Hartnell Richards Briere
Upshall Carter Lupul

WOW....Obviously that would have had to have been before the salary cap

One guy? You take Lundqvist. You don't get him, you take Chara/Lidstrom

You have to take a goalie. I love Mart and Nitty, but put this team in front of soemone liek Lundquist, Luongo and Brodeur, and they are #1 in the east. The guy said salary doesn't matter, so you take one of them. If slary does matter, I might take Steve Mason so we don't have to implode the team to fit them

I would also look into Ovechkin, you can never under-value star power. Ovechkin would put the Flyers on NBC and other channels. It would put us as the "premeire" team in the NHL. A market like Phill, a player like Ovechkin= huge sucess

On defense, I would loke at someone younger, maybe Shea Weber or Dion Phaneuf
