straight up skill level whitney may be in the same league as dustin brown, but dustin browns contract pulls him light years ahead. i would go as far as to say that with contract value that dustin brown has more value than lecavalier....especially to most/all of the cup contenders. However, those who say that whitney is worth for ott and a first NEXT year, are just awfully wrong. whitney is coming off a 40 point year because of a deformed foot (why he missed 1/2 the year with surgery). the fact that he still put up 40 points speaks volumes about him (and the pens power play last year) point is, the kid is still only 25 or 26, and people need to stop selling him short, as he has the potential to be as good or better than gonchar if he learns to use his size to his advantage...

yeah. give the guy a break. . Whitney has the potential to be a Perennial All-Star. And for 4mil a year, he would be a major asset to any teams defence.

Fixed that for you. Whitney's offense is attractive, his defensive play leaves a ton to be desired.
