That is how the Flyers' official site lists it:

Nice to catch Tampa on the back end of back-to-back games. They're playing inspired hockey right now; it's one of those games where a 'should win' could become 'how did we lose that one?'

Set the pace.
No dumb penalties.
Win.

Go Flyers!
Let's play the whole game tonight, no taking whole periods off.

On Knuble:
Quote:
Mike Knuble, one of three Americans on the Flyers' active roster, was in a patriotic mood as he caught glimpses of yesterday's inauguration of President Obama. "You see millions of people there and [realize] just what a defining moment it is in the history of the United States," Knuble said. "There are a lot of things people have never seen in a lifetime, and I'm very proud to see it happen." Matt Carle and Andrew Alberts are the other U.S. citizens on the Flyers' roster. . . .

Setting the pace is huge. The only problem is when they come out flat in the second as if they'd completely exerted themselves already.

Since there was some nationality talk: Could someone fill me in why EVERY Flyers helmet has an american flag on the back beside the number?

At first I thought it was nationality as for example many goalies have their national flags on the back plate of the helmet and the Flames actually have national flags for their players as shoulder patches, but that can obviously not be it since even the Canadian players on the Flyers have the Stars and Stripes on the helmet.

I've always assumed it was because the team is in an American city.

stevens quest to beat his perosnal 10 game lsoign streaks continue

this team is so undisciplined it is sickening. where is the coaching in helping the players avoid these penalties? does the coaching staff even know what a penalty is as you wouldnt think so as they commit the same oens over and over. no accountability since downie and lasse are out of town.

According to Tim Saunders in the Pregame video, Powe has had the flu for the last two days, so he may not get as much ice time tonight. Dunno what that really means for the third line :/

BTW, I'm coining a new name for the third line of Upshall - Powe - Giroux. From here on out they may be known as the Pixie Stix Line (because they Usually play as if they snorted at least one before the game).
