This is the first year where he looks comfortable making plays. He's said before that he watched a lot of film, and noticed he had more time to make a play then he originally thought. I think he can only improve. He's been one of our most consistent players this season imo.

He never said he'd be a guranteed 40-40 guy. He said he believes he has it in him. He's wrong, but since when is it so bad to make high goals in this business? I suppose it's better if he said "I believe i can do nothing more than 52 points a year, I won't even try to go further!"? People need to get over it, he set the bar high, too high, but it just shows he wants to succeed and contribute that much.

I wasn't talking about what Higgins said. Long before that posters here, on HFBoards, claimed him to be a future 40 goal guy. That's what I was referring to, not Higgins' comment.

We are buzzing on a 15 pts in 45 games player, we are really in need of a superstar...

Lapierre is good, 3rd liner shutdown who can score (40 pts) potential and good PK abilities... that is it.

Really sad we do no have a wrapped gift superstar player for our 100th...

He should had been....he seemed to lose 1/2-1 step after his first significant (ankle) injury.

He was too fast for almost everyone and had lethal finishing skills before that injury. It seems he's digressed in both since then.

If he consistently plays better then a player like Begin, I'm happy. Never expected much from him, anything extra he gives, is gravy imo. Very happy with the way hes playing this season

30ish points player. I see him being similar to Montreal as Draper is to Detroit.
