Cell phone plan advice!

Hi everyone. I recently started working for a large company and we have the opportunity to get some discounts on cell phone plans. My Rogers contract just recently expired and I was looking at getting a phone/plan where I could check my e-mail and surf the web.

I came accross this company plan with Telus and I was wondering if I could get some opinions. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff so I have no idea if this is worth the price. I also don't know how good Telus is as a provider (I'm in Montreal, if that helps).

TELUS PLAN FOR BLACKBERRY

Rate: $43.05 per month, + ~$8 for system access and 911 + tax (Canadian $$$)

Voice:
- 250 daytime minutes (per second billing) +10 cents/min additional
- Unlimited Evenings and Weekends (6 pm to 7 am)
- Voicemail
- Conference Calling
- Call ID
- Call Forwarding
- Call Waiting
- 100 outgoing text messages ($5 more for unlimited outgoing)
- Unlimited incoming text messages

Data:
- Unlimited POP3 email
- Unlimited Instant Messaging
- Unlimited Web Browsing

I'm most interested in the Telus plan because it is the cheapest one and it's the only one that offers unlimited browsing from the corperate plans. Also with a 3/year deal I get a Blackberry Curve for $50 and an additional $125 credit as well. They also have the Blackberry Storm for $250 (with the $125 credit too). I don't like the 3 year contract thing but I'm including it for your information.

Is this worth getting?

This may not be what you think.

I think it's unlimited if you go on certain websites for mobile browsing (like yahoo, cbc, weather...). Other websites, like normal browsing, will cost you as Data, i.e many cents per kb.

Unlimited DATA plans cost a lot more than that.

Also, I like Fido as they bill you per second. That is a very big difference IMO

I called them and apparently this covers all websites. Even Youtube and stuff. Like I said, this is a corperate plan which is why it is so cheap.

call the other providers, tell them Telus offers you this plan and ask if they can offer a better deal... i'm sure they'll add another little freebie.
If you don't mind lying a little say Telus charges no access fee on this corp plan...

but it's a good price anyways... you can see it as a 23$ voice plan + 20$ for unlimited data... which is ok for a new customer...

you can also visit THIS FORUM and you should find lots of info on all Canadian carriers and many helpful people that can give you advice...

Haha I work for Bell Mobility! Sounds like a great plan. If you give me the company name, I can check if I can get you a better deal!
