Franson Staying Put

The Milwaukee Admirals called up TJ McElroy from Cincinnati before Friday night's game. The move didn't make a lot of sense...since the Admirals need forwards, not defensemen.

So we thought this might be an anticipatory move to allow a call-up of Cody Franson. We figured that might happen since Sulzer got injured in Nashville.

After tonight's conversations - we are confident that this isn't going to happen.

Franson tweaked a minor injury, and they weren't 100% sure he'd be able to play Friday. So they called up McElroy as insurance.

But two sources tell us that that Franson isn't going to be called up "anytime soon".

So unless Nashville makes a trade or another injury surfaces, we don't expect any more defensemen to be moving up.

And I still hope you're right. He took a bad penalty on the PK last night and was then lucky he didnt get another when he tried to cross check someone in the head later on.

Wow, he's only what, 21 or 22? Hasn't his skating and defensive play improved every year since leaving juniors? That was his weakness in juniors and I've seen him play a couple hundred games there. From what I've read he is improving in those areas. Patience people, the guy will get better and at 25 he will be a beast.
