Although i am not an American, nor do i live in your Country, i do have a great understanding of the amout of courage and bravery it takes for someone to step into unknown territory and defend his/her honour, and fight for a righteous cause.

My Brother is currently in Afghanistan on his second tour of duty representing the Canadian Forces, and it has truly changed his life in respect to the way he appreciates things such as fresh clean smelling air, running water, septic systems roadways etc.

I hope that you too come back to North America with similar views as to how well off we really are.

Valhoun, you have forever gained the respect of this Canadian.

I'm in Kuwait waiting for all of our equipment to arrive. Today with had a Brit give a briefing. He was very funny... pretty much all lame briefings should be given by British soldiers. The accent makes it slightly less boring. The Brits here are actually pretty cool but I feel sorry for them, they have some ***** jobs and don't really get to do all that much.

While i have the upmost respect for anyone in the armed forces anywhere in the world. That includes, north Americans, British, Aussies ect. There is one thing that really does get under my skin. It's something that you will not hear from the British, but only an american thing. Thats defending your country. Do you really think the guys getting sent out to Kuwait, Afgan, Iraq ect are defending American Soil?

This isn't a troll, as i said i have the biggest respect for any person willing to join the armed forces, They arn't paid enough for the job they do, or given enough respect. But I just don't buy into the whole recruitment scheme set up.

Yes, I do. And may you never hold the hand of a 12 year old girl who tells you that her family just sent her dad's toothbrush to a police precinct so when they "find him in the hospital, the police will know who he is." (for the record, he was never found) And may you never be responsible for 400 kids when F-16's and Apaches are flying over the building in which you teach. And may you never have to spend weeks of your life looking at black smoke that plummets out of buildings that your own father worked in for decades. And may you never have to call one of your best friends and ask if her husband is OK because he was on the 78th floor of a building that just had a plane fly into it (for the record, he is OK).

There's more, much more, but to say, or even think, that what these men and women are doing in Iraq, Afghanistan and many other places all over the world has nothing to do with "defending American soil" is just plain kidding yourself.

I will climb down from my soapbox now, but you may want to check the history of your own country, because there are people who will say that what America did in Europe during WWII had little or nothing to do with "defending American soil" either.

Having hot brass lodge itself between one's body armor and skin sucks. My upper-back looks like John Stevens' wife's vagina after getting run through by Lasse Kukkonen.

When doing close quarter combat ranges there are almost always soldiers really close to you... like shoulder to shoulder. Their ejected brass has a tendency to hit the guy to the right in the face, neck, shoulder, etc. There is a small chance that the round falls down the front or back of the armor where it burns like hell. Not just hot but blistering the skin. It heals quickly though and kinda kills the nerves so it doesn't hurt bad after.

And which daughter is hotter? And that ****ing rhymed.

****, that doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Next time, be the giver, okay?

That was a beautiful poem, but at the moment I don't believe either one has a fever, and they're both in cold climates. So I can't really say.
