Not a great effort but a win nonetheless. The thing I was most happy to see was the excitement shown by the team when we scored the last 2 goals. It showed that they still care, and they wanted to win more then anything.

Anyway the ref let it go and we got a goal. Lots of missed calls work against us too so I will take the ones we get in our favour without a guilty conscience
I just re-watched it a few times, and he definitely wasn't clear until Doughty went down, but the interesting part is that they had actually hooked each others arms, until Higgins shoved him back and down. It was too fast, and more of just a good battle than anything that the ref could call. Higgins never grabbed onto him, though, and at that point in a game that LA was leading, the habs would have had to done a lot more than a stiff arm to get a penalty. A Carter-like crosscheck with 30 seconds left, for example.

Bashing the performance, cheering for the win.

And Price doesn't suck, nobody said he did. He needs to make gamebreaking saves for a team who has so much trouble winning. He did it surely in the 3rd. If you feel like people are exagerrating in their analysis, no reason for you do it either.

He was doing the same thing last year except with Huet instead of Halak. It's ridiculous the things people get off on.

That Bruins guy is hilarious, why are you here anyway? Your team is a gazillion points ahead of us. Why are you concerned enough to come here at this point and rip our team? We can do that plenty of times ourselves. Enjoy having ALL the pressure on your team come this April when you'll be facing a team with 2 superstars in Pittsburgh or a team in Buffalo that has beat your team 3 times this year or the Panthers who are really progressing the last month.

WOW. Some moron caller on CKAC ripping Price and saying the Gauthier hit was legal.

He did it in more than just the third though. The Frolov breakaway save with the edge of the pad in the second wasn't big? All three goals were pure slam dunk that would take complete miracle to save. He saved everything he had actual chance of saving tonight but got criticized for no reason.

Another history class, 2003-2004: Habs down 3-1 in the series, come back and win it in seven games, ranked 7 against the 2nd ranked Bruins.

Just sayin'

they bash everything!!
not you, but most of them....and then all is well.
they are humans, they mess up!!! hard to believe I know.

and all game long I read about how Price doesnt stop anything, he needs to make big saves, the goals were his fault...ect...

its annoying cuz not 1 goal today was Price fault...NOT 1.
and he made the 2 saves against Frolov.

I now know why I took so much time away from this site, and its only gotten worst while I was gone.

I just noticed Markov played slightly over 30 minutes tonight, seems he picked up most of Gorges minutes. I wonder is that the most he has played all year?

I do remember Carbo saying a while back that Markov is capable for sure of playing that much, guess it was a sign of things to come.

Sad when folks can't set prejudice aside enough when something that blatant happens. They can't even use the often abused line of "the man didn't protect himself".

The league has to take head hunting out of the game. And in my opinion that would also include the celebrated Stevenson type shoulder to head hits. With size strength and speed being what they are today, and the rate at which they are increasing, somebody will pay a higher price than a few weeks of headaches

Gorges gets a headshot- returns- then leaves the game.

Don't think it was a good idea to let Gorges return to the game after the devastating head shot. I know that the shaky D was in really bad shape having to play without him, but having seen the vid replays there is no way this player should have been allowed to return to the game. In my opinion, whoever on the Habs staff is responsible for the health and welfare of the players on this team really needs to give their head(s) a shake. I hope they learn from this experience.

Another caller just said, in one phrase, that Lapierre was our #1 center and had hands as good as Antoine (has he scored 5 goals this year?) Vermette. WTF?

Last goal was good. Higgins threw Doughty aside and won his battle. If the ref call this a penalty then we can say that the league has gone soft. Higgins never grabbed him.

Yup.. Vermette has 5 goals to Lapierre's 10 this year. Clearly we should trade for Vermette and make him our #1 center.
