Win corner battles + HIT + Park his McDonalds investment in front of the net + SHOOT THE PUCK (not try to deke the goalie around the net)

**** seniority, Breezie should be sitting if O'Bryne is a better defenceman and has HIS CONFIDENCE BACK.

I think that it is a testament as to how bad our D is when Gorges is thrown back into the game. AK46 was not handled like this. The D ought to demand danger pay.

I think we all wanted OB back, but none of us were so reatarded to think of this a discriminatory act toward english people. But Carbo knows better than us what to do with OB, because OB was sure a little *** before going to the Dogs.

Exactly. It is a hefty price to pay though if it means to do that this year to not see him return next year, I'm all for it, we don't a choice do we?

Let's hope not that this team is coached and managed by other things than what's actually happening on the ice...

Brisebois shouldn't be playing at all. He was presented as a 7th D man pre-season. I'd go with O'Byrne any day. The problem gets even worse as the season goes along and players tire.

Well with this team and this coach, I am starting to believe that players like Lats and Breezie get away with a lot more and I hope to god its not because they are playing them for the fans or french media benefit, that is my point here.

Lats and Breezy must be the guys who got benched the most often on this team, along with Bégin, so stop the ******** please. Their is no free pas on this team, this is the NHL, yes the NHL. Take your indentity crisis on other boards please.

Latendresse has been excellent so far.

As for Brisebois, we can whine about him as much we wants, the fact is that he is currently +1 playing on the third pairing and would be on pace for 24 points if he played a full 82 games.

Agreed. Basically Higgins did a "swim move" around Doughty. Perfectly legitimate.

Let me see Breezy's giveway stats, offensively he's adequate, defensively he's putrid.

How many games has Gui sat this season 1 -3 games, give your head a shake.
He was suppose to our great hitter NOT!
He is suppose to be a scorer NOT!
He is suppose to inflict damage on the other team after they hurt your players NOT!
I will give him props for puck battles in his own zone but thats it.
He won't defend his teammates
He didn't shoot tonight
He didn't cream anybody tonight
Sorry but my observations!
Take it or leave it.

I can't stand him, he hasn't progressed at all and why he wasn't benched after not shooting in the slot. He never wins any puck battles he dosen't hit at all and his effort stinks.
Briesbois is also a dilemma for me as well. He has been very sub par and O'Bryne sits after he got his CONFIDENCE back and played a strong game in Tampa Bay.
Its time Gainey has a one sided converstaion with Carbo and tell him that certain french players don't have more rope than the guys.
Get O'Byrne back in and bench Gui, Kovy, and Breeze bye!
I thought Lats was fine and i ain't even a huge fan of his.

Kovalev BY FAR was the worst hab on the ice. Stupid penalty, costly turnovers and nothing offensively. That line was absolutely terrible. Kovalev has played with basically the entire team alongside him and no one can find consistency. The message is becoming load and clear.

Did Markov get that last goal? The news item said he did http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/recap?gid=2009013110

but now it looks like Koivu is credited?

Koivu got the winning goal ?

I see he has been credited with the winning goal tonight ( from what i saw, he pushed it through quick pads and quick fell on it pushing it in the net)

http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/268145.html

Unless im wrong, isn't this a third point in what.. 3 or 4 games ?

Brisebois sucks, have to say I hate him being on the team. The players, both forwards and his D partner, have to expend way too much energy allowing him to fit in. Imo, the only reason he is playing with the Habs is because he is a good buddy to both Carbo and Gainey.

He has the most hits on the team! Thats pretty good considering Montreal is among the top teams in the league in hits.

Of course he blows, he's a 7th defenseman, but what im saying is we probably have the best 7th defenseman in the league if that makes sense.

apparently you only listen to Lats boosters and not the majority of hab fans. I will give you the expectations of the normal fan.

Not a great hitter but is physical.
Wasn't supposed to play a scoring role necessarily as, akost, Pleks, Higgins, Kovalev and Tanguay were supposed to be doing that.
He isn't a fighter so isn't going to be the defender. That was Laraques job.

your observations are wrong and you bought into hype that some overzealous fan boys put out instead of forming your own opinion of a 21 year old forward.

Nothing wrong with Lats. Thought the AK46/Pleks/Lats line showed that they have a lot of potential. Hope Carbo keeps this combo together for a while.

106 hits, third on the team

he got one of the the best shot on the team, 41 goals so far, wich is not bad for a guy so young.

Quote:

He never did that in the junior, neither in the NHL. It's not his game, even thought he ha dropped them 2-3 times in the big league.

exactly. I'm so sick of hearing that it was a penalty. He just outworked him (just like it would've been against the boards). He has the right to protect the puck. And people saying that WE were handed the game. Throughout the entire game, all of us were incredulous at Auger's bs calls on us. They picked a bad time to get a penalty and somehow we capitalized! Calder CLEARLY cross-checked Markov from behind into the boards, you cannot defend that. So maybe people should say, LA screwed themselves over and gave it to us on a platter, not the refs (who if anything screwed us over for the most part).

That'd be a pretty bad decision by a defenseman... why would he want to swim move toward the neutral zone when a guy is going by him with the puck? That would just push the guy toward the net. So yeah, just as legit, just stupid.
