Naslund-Anisimov-Zherdev would be beast. A nice blend of sniper,grinder/power forward, playmaker

The AHL site has him listed at 205 now.

I'm curious to see where he fits into the lineup. I'd be surprised if this was a precursor to a deal, but you never know.

I seriously think this move leads to one of our centermen being traded!

I hope it's gomez!

I think the rangers should play anisimov with drury...it takes the faceoff pressure off anisimov....do I think anisimov should play wing? no but in the defensive zone drury could take the faceoffs...

drury anisimov zherdev

naslund gomez callahan

dawes dubinsky korps

is what I would go with...

About a month to go before the trade deadline, I say they're getting ready to trade either Anisimov or another center.
We shall see.

Why would they showcase another center by bringing up Anisimov? That doesn't make sense to me, they are either showing him or hoping he has some killer instinct and can put the puck in the net.

Those of you hoping this is a precursor to some big trade shouldn't get your hopes up. This very likely is simply a reward call-up. For all we know, he may not even play on Tuesday (though I hope he does). He's had a good season, done all the organization has asked of him, so he's getting the chance to come to NY and maybe get his feet wet and give the coaching staff here a chance to get a look at him. Plus he gets a couple days pay at his NHL salary, which certainly is a nice bonus. They did it with Potter last season, so it certainly wouldn't be out of the question. The Pack don't play again until Wednesday.

If he does play, it allows the Rangers to see where he stands at the NHL level and helps them decide what moves they might make at the trade deadline. But it's definitely not a sign that some big move is imminent.

Folks should dial back their expectations a bit too. He's still just 20 years old, and though he's put on 15 pounds, he could still stand to be stronger. He's a good player who will definitely have success in the NHL. But don't expect him to be some sort of offensive savior who's going to walk in and light up the scoreboard right away.

I think they meant Arty may be on the block, so they wanna showcase what he's got.

Finally a move I agree with!
I wonder if they'll add Grachev to the roster when his OHL season ends like they always talked about doing with Staal. That would be a nice addition.

It would be pure stupidity to trade AA who is just 20 years old and has been one of the top scorers in the AHL this season.

I love Gomez but I think its time he goes. Clear cap space. Get another forward in return for him. We'll still be a playoff contender especially if AA can produce a little.

If anything else this move puts a ton of pressure on the forwards on this squad because now they could either lose their spot in the lineup or be traded if they dont perform. I think thats very threatening to these guys because most of these players love being in NY. They've gotten too comfortable the last month or so and have not put it together every night.

Anisimov is a grinder? I have not seen much of him but from what I have, he is far from a grinder.

If this is a precursor to a trade, it's silly to think Artem would be the one traded. He plays first line minutes in HFD - any team can (and has) send a scout to see what he has down there.

Great point.

Again dont think you trade AA who is currently youre top forward prospect right now and has been very good down there. Sather has made some stupid moves like signing Rissmiller, Voros, etc...but he has not been making trades giving up our better prospects. Hes been very patient
