Rex?

Recchi is available, and has played here before. Furthermore, he had chemistry with Koivu. And he'd come cheap.

A good replacement?

Not old enough!

Everyone knows we need to go older to improve on Lang's vetaran presence!

Koivu had great chemistry with Brian Savage. Let's bring Savage back!

Man is this Lang injury terrible for the team. We had 3 great centers... and now we don't. If management is serious about getting a cup, they now not only need a good center, but also a good 3rd-4th D-man.

Say bye bye to Kyle Chipchura... and hopefully to the wannabe captain. Making two positives moves in one: bringing back chemistry to this team and fill the empty spots on the roster.

Great, that post allowed me to say everything I had to say in one post. Some people here should learn from this.

A good replacement for who GV? Who would you like to drop from our roster and replace with Recchi?

Maybe he wants to play him at center?

Maybe...but I"m just curious. The OP throws out the name of a player. I'd like to know why they think we should add him, and who we should drop to fit him in.

I don't know when we ever had three great centres on this team this year. Lang's been great, Koivu's been injured, Plekanec has been irrelevant.

For Lang. Obviously. Veteran presence on a top two line.

I see your point GV, and I have always been a fan of Recchi. But to replace Lang we need a center. We can still add Recchi for a veteran presence, but who from the top 2 lines would you drop to fit him in?

I'm figuring in this scenario Higgins would move to centre, more than anything I believe we need a veteran scorer on those top two lines.

Fair enough GV, and I hope you didn't think I was calling you out. The Habs have tried Higgins at the center in the past with minimal results. I don't think putting him there would be a good long term solution.

Like I said previously, I like Recchi. But is adding him worth dropping say D'agostini or Max Pac from our line up?

Personally I don't think so, but that's my humble opinion.

That was 10 years ago, and Lang and Kovalev had chemistry in Pittsburgh but I didn't see it happen on Montreal ice.
