Kovalev is like the girlfriend who's only interested when you buy her jewelery. One day you have to wake up and save yourself the greif and the money. Goodbye Kovy

Im not hating on him, he just needs to rely on his linemates more and he'd be much better. I believe in you Alexei. Pass the puck If theres one thing I know, is that jeers quickly turn to cheers around here.

With 32 games left, Kovalev can easily get 30+ points if he wants. Him getting those points enables young players to play more relaxed and get points themselves. That's what happened last year. Kovalev was playing so great, players around him didn't have to do too much. When he's on, he's on.

I love this type of comment regarding Kovalev because probably 50 percent of us have felt this way about Kovy since he came to Montreal.

Yes Montreal fans are fickle and often jump on bandwagons but its been a 50/50 split generally on opinions of Kovalev.

I have always maintained my opinion on Kovy as he is great when wants to be and inspired however he isn't going to carry your teams year in year out. He is a good player in a supporting role but isn't a star nor close to a franchise player. He will never be my type of player because of his indifferent play but you have to respect his skills despite really not equaling the production you'd expect.

Kovy, my faith is in you.

I never could hate this guy....he's one of the reasons I started watching hockey. I remember him in his pittsburgh days with Jagr. I loved those 2 so much, and when he came to this team I was so happy.

I still remember when I found out...I was in a bus ,the driver had ckac on and I still remember the words Dany Dube said:

Ecoute, c'est pas compliqué; Le canadien vient de chercher le meilleur joueur de son equipe.

EPIC.

You were happy when everything he did turned gold last year, weren't ya?

No, actually you weren't because when this team was playing well, Kovalev was a non factor and when the team is struggling it's all Kovalev's fault.

Go hide under your bed and eat your taco.

No, actually I was chewing on a taco and thinking when is this all going to end and when will Kovalev come back to being his usual self. Honest to god.

actually, last year, when Kovalev was caring about this team, I was still pissed about him missing the whole season before, so right now, I only see a bunch of blind fanboys that have the hockey goldfish syndrome: the incapacity to remember more than one season at once.

I really knew when he pulled his non-show against philly last season that he was going back to his good ol' Kovy form

Nope, I almost fell into his trap. Then the play-offs happened and he was no where to be found when the going got tough and we needed a big play. I wasn't going to be tricked into it after that and I haven't been. He can score 93 goals by the end of this season and I'll still want his ass off the team.

What if last year was just a hick up...and now he is back to his old self....

ie... before 07-08....

06-07...73 games, 47 points, minus 19
05-06... 69 games, 65 points, minus 1
03-04... 78 games, 45 points, minus 9
02-03... 78 games, 40 points... minus 9

Maybe there is a reason he has only lasted for 2 or so seasons on the last 2 teams he has played....

Just a thought

I have always felt Kovalev quiet often "mails it in" and just does not give a rat's arse
